Yeah this has been mostly dark. It probably wouldn’t have felt like this if we had, you know, actually gone back and forth between the past and present. It also doesn’t help that we’ve spent more time from Ch. 22 to Ch. 35 than it did from the beginning to Ch. 22.

I don't think that information was really crucial. We knew Yami learned about Ta-kun == Yuu in ch. 11 and we know the attitude she took from ch. 15. That extra chapter was just about how she felt about it, which one could guess even without being told.

Not to mention 13.5 being a bonus for those who bought the volume, as opposed to these new ones distributed freely.

This is my thought, if the flashbacks had been spread out more naturally and we bounced back and forth between Hikari and Yami the tone wouldn’t have been irrevocably shattered. Now Whenever we go back to the volume 1 tone it just feels like a different, better manga that we won’t get to read.
