I don't think that information was really crucial. We knew Yami learned about Ta-kun == Yuu in ch. 11 and we know the attitude she took from ch. 15. That extra chapter was just about how she felt about it, which one could guess even without being told.

Chapter 13.5, however, provides a clear confirmation of when Yami discovered that Yuu was the one Hikari liked, as well as the fact that Hikari is Yuu’s childhood friend.

That's really pushing it. Of course technically you could interpret
"Before I knew it, my former boyfriend had become the crush of my best friend"
as something she just learned, and that she went to hide because she spotted Yuu and Hikari together and realised everything, but that's too far-fetched. I sincerely doubt anyone ever thought so.

I clearly remember that before chapter 13.5 was released, many people, myself included, saw what happened in chapter 11 as a possibility rather than a confirmed fact that Yami had discovered it was the same Yuu, since it wasn’t a clear confirmation. I’m not going to dig through the comments, but I’m fairly certain that many believed Yami only truly discovered it in chapter 21. So no, it’s not pushing it, and it’s not too far-fetched.
