Do any of Y'all know a good translator for the WN? Because apparently, the web novel made it more apparent that the guy was either taken or wasn't interested in the FMC.

Just go to the authors note page and use the auto translator for the website. I'll link it below, I know the built in translator for chrome for me works really well.

Thanks, but apparently there's someone working on an English translation of the WN. They're up to chapter four and I'm astound that the manga chapters leave out a lot of details.

How are they supposed to add the details to the managa when they simulpub it? It's impossible and why i think this work suffers for it. The story might be good but the way it's presented and published makes it bad.

honestly I don't really like the male lead very much, and I hope he doesn't actually get with the heroine, because hes so wishy washy, and isn't very resolute w/ his feelings. But, I also gotta say, holy shit are they dragging out this flashback sequence, we get the gist of it already, can they wrap it up already? Does the creator of this not know going to a flashback in any work of media is a taboo? There's a legitimate reason for that too, it's awful for viewer retention, and kills momentum of the work. I bet most people by this point are even forgetting what this manga is even about, and most of the other characters, besides these two, that you probably didn't give much of a shit about in the first place

It was superr good until ch 22. This could have been good if author just separated these 2 "tropes" in two different manga like ch 23 and above can be enjoyable if you just forget the last 22 chapters. Super disappointed rly

Ngl the hate this manga is getting is overblown. The story isn't outrageous and isn't telling anything unheard of. Was the twist dumb? Yeah, but I don't think that takes away from the fact that characters in a story can be relatable without being likeable.

Reported to mods for using the wrong cover on this manga. I dont even know who that girl is.

I’m waiting for the go signal from the mods to change the cover to an appropriate one. :02:

I was getting kind of a bad vibe from the early chapters. As cutesy as it was, something felt off about the way everything was falling into place. I hate that my gut was right, and now all of the most recent chapters are just about developing a relationship I never wanted and don't care for while the character I actually like is languishing in offscreen hell.

This manga is a depressing let-down. Kinda should've seen it coming from the title but the early chapters were straight up deception so that's not really my fault.

Regardless of quality, it just feels bad to read. Not anger, more like empty resignation. Something about the drama polluting what was otherwise set up as a sweet romance just makes it hit so much worse. I don't think the rating would've tanked so hard if it didn't take over 20 chapters of fluff for it to actually play its hand, even if misery stories are hit-or-miss. It's not common I drop a manga before I've even flagged it as "Reading" but here we are. Don't think I'll be revisiting this one.

I probably wouldn't have cared if not for Yom's art making the "main" character such an adorable dork, I really wanted to see her succeed. And it's not as if the author is some talentless hack either, they have a good track record. How do two positives plummet into such a strong negative?

I don't know why this manga is 6.5, sure the flash-back seems long, but it's just because of the time between the release of new chapters. I like how the author takes enough time to develop the character of Yuu's ex-gf and doesn't just say that they banged and got together but no one knows why. Otherwise it would just be another generic romance, where the whole plot is just both parties not wanting to confess to the other and the only turn of events is one making a mistake and revealing their feelings to the other.

I'm torn. I do respect that the author cares enough to try and develop this relationship, to make it meaningful if only to inflict maximum possible pain. I don't like basically anything else about it. It comes completely out of left field, wrenches the plot away from the parts I was enjoying, and the whole twist itself has been such a fundamental tone alteration that I can't possibly enjoy it the same way I was beforehand. It's basically a whole different manga, and it's hard not to feel like the original has been abandoned. The heroine's antics were my favorite part, and now not only is she MiA, but the moment she comes back is just going to be depressing. I can't say I'm in suspense.

I don't really think a 6.5 is warranted either, at least not yet. But I think it speaks to peoples' feelings more than an objective metric of quality; Something the author was clearly planning from the start still feels like it has stained the manga a bad color. A twist should draw you deeper into a world, not shock you out of it.

Like, imagine if you read Berserk up to the Eclipse, and then out of nowhere Miura shuffled Guts offscreen and suddenly started telling a harem comedy. Either you enjoy the first part only for it to change into something you don't, or you like the second part because you didn't really get invested in the first. It's a lose:lose. Sure, some people will appreciate the whole, but many (myself included) will prefer a side. It's a betrayal of expectations, plain and simple.

I don't know how they salvage this. Maybe there's some incredible master plan, but if I come back in a year and see a Tragedy tag, I won't be surprised. The current state of the main heroine hurts my heart. If the ending drops and I see that it's a happy one, then maybe I'll sit through the drama. I can weather a painful journey if I know the destination is good, but I'm not looking for a new twist of the knife every couple weeks.

This joke is getting old. Everyone and their mother knows the cover will only change when volume 2 is released.

Simple, people were taken aback by the sudden shift in tone of the story. They were expecting a fluff manga just to do a 180 after the first 20 or so chapters. If the conflict or the drama was introduced early in the story, people wouldn't had reacted negatively to it. And yeah, the flashbacks unnecessarily long and it's contributing little to the story. The info needed to advance the plot can be handpicked and summarized in a few chapters however the author mentioned that "someone" wanted to add romantic scenes prolonging this flashback arc.

I think that was said tongue and cheek. I'm fairly certain volume two is going to be this arc completely. If that's the case, they still have about 30-40 pages to write before this arc ends.

This manga was always slow on story, the first volume took 8 months of releases before the shift.

The only way maruto makes this go faster is if he thinks the story is stagnating and needs to shift, but I do not see him as a writer that would do that. I'm fairly certain he is a double down type of writer.
