I think there's good odds that Maruto is writing a looped tragedy wherin Aya fell for and now won't date Yuu b/c of Hikari and Hikari fell for and now won't date Yuu b/c of Aya.any clarity in regards to who the end game couple is wont happen until that hikari and yami talk imo
If memory serves (and people will correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe Yami's story is something like this:Forgive me, stopped taking the story seriously ages ago, but why is she this tortured soul again? All I remember is she hates her Mom and she got her own place from some bullshit with her parents.
Only thing I ever gleaned was that almost all the negative events in her life were almost entirely her fault, save her Mom sucking. I imagine it'd make readers less angry if the portrayal wasn't so realistic. I think a lot of us know someone like this- where the solutions to their problems are quite literally in arms reach, but they like to throw a pity party instead so they can convince themselves they're a victim. They LITERALLY don't want to be happy.
Hikari:Go back and read it again. Hikari’s already won. She’s allowing them to have this special moment together (they’re in “the palm of her hand”) but Yuu is hers. Yami knows it’s over.
Started aggressively skimming, totally confused as to when that got dropped since I didn't remember. No fuggin wonder I don't remember- all that lore got dropped on a single page.If memory serves (and people will correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe Yami's story is something like this:
Her father dies and her mother remarries. Yami's stepfather tries (or succeeds) in sexually assaulting her in addition to I believe cheating on Yami's mother with other women (I might be mistaken about this part). Yami runs away from home and stays with friends for a bit and then decides to do sugar dating to make money to survive. Her first time doing this is when she meets Yuu. Cue her adventures with Yuu. During this she confronts her mother about what her stepfather has been doing in the hopes that her mom will side with her and kick the stepfather out. Mom fights with stepfather and eventually kicks him out but immediately regrets it and wants him back. Stepfather refuses to come back. Mother attempts suicide. Yami feels guilty about all of this and blames herself. Yami feels she doesn't deserve to be happy with Yuu since her mother can't be happy with the stepfather. Yami ghosts Yuu.
I dont get it, are you saying thats what maruto building towards for when yuu is confessing to either hikari/yami in future chapter?I think there's good odds that Maruto is writing a looped tragedy wherin Aya fell for and now won't date Yuu b/c of Hikari and Hikari fell for and now won't date Yuu b/c of Aya.
So unsurprisingly a really shitty shojo drama romance plot is still just as shitty when the genders are reversed. After thinking about it. This whole manga feels like a basic FMM love triangle getting flipped on its head and gender reversed. Yuu is the indecisive Female lead; Yami is the complicated, family issues, noble idiocy trope Male Lead; and Hikari is the perfect, no issues, no struggles, golden child Second Male Lead.
I think the important part was that Yami hates being pitied by him. I think that's why she refuses to tell him why she even ghosted him in the first place, even though he seems to have caught on to that to some extent.Unlike in the manga, Yuu spends some time acknowledging that what Yami is going through is harder than anything going on in his life and then praises her for managing to go back to school.
This part was intentional: she first says "But now I'm slacking off again. Because of Yuu.", but once he says he really is to blame, she immediately goes "it has nothing to do with you" since he took the blame where he shouldn't be blamed.Conversely, I hate that in response to Yuu blaming himself that Yami says it has nothing to do with him. Like, girl, come on.
The chapter title has "just the two of them" and the next chapter is going to be part 2, so I'd assume Hikari either appears at the very end of the next chapter or doesn't appear at all.Would be pretty surprised if hikari didnt appear next chapter really
This part is wrong. Yami tried to tell her mother about the stepdad trying to assault her, but she refused to listen, and that was long before meeting Yuu.During this she confronts her mother about what her stepfather has been doing in the hopes that her mom will side with her and kick the stepfather out. Mom fights with stepfather and eventually kicks him out but immediately regrets it and wants him back. Stepfather refuses to come back.
You have finally realized the thing I have saying from last year. This always was Shikimori is not just a cutie:After thinking about it. This whole manga feels like a basic FMM love triangle getting flipped on its head and gender reversed. Yuu is the indecisive Female lead; Yami is the complicated, family issues, noble idiocy trope Male Lead
Because people sees yumi as a toxic and destructive person with manipulator-like monologue thinking and behavior. people sees yumi as back-stabber where she tries to snatch yuu from hikari. Despite knowing the yami broken background, it's does not justified yami for her action lead to her now. People don't feel sympathetic which a shame imo, as someone who rooting for hikari, grow a liking toward yami as a a characther since her inner conflict and strunggle in choosing either her friends happiness or her unresolved feeling towards her ex due to miscommunication.why again do people think that yami is scum?
I don't know if he confesses in a future chapter or if he's hoping one of the girls makes the decision for him.for when yuu is confessing to either hikari/yami in future chapter?
Neither do I, I think right now the biggest factor is both girls are refusing to make the decision for Yuu b/c doing so would leave them always feeling insecure about his attachment to the other. ETA: which might be why they reject him even if he does confess.dont think their friendship is the biggest factor for either of the girls really in regards to why they wont date yuu.
Yami's real problem is that she delivers a lot of mentally embarrassing, edgy monologues, but when push comes to shove, she usually behaves like a normal teenager reacting to her dysfunctional life. Only at the cultural festival did we actually see her act like the homewrecker she was supposed to be. In fact, I have to admit that I think Maruto has toned down Ayami a lot compared to what she promised to be in chapters 22-24. Yuu really fixed her, lol.Because people sees yumi as a toxic and destructive person with manipulator-like monologue thinking and behavior. people sees yumi as back-stabber where she tries to snatch yuu from hikari.
I mean, Hikari had already dealt with that in chapters 44 and 46-48. Another thing is that Hikari surprised us a bit by revealing that she prefers a Yuu who is no longer a virgin and who does have experience, unlike the obsession of the entire Mangadex with... male virginity. With Yami and Yuu's revelation I was really hoping that the title "It's a bit late" referred to the fact that Yuu loved Hikari for a very long time but when Hikari loved him back he had already moved on and the story would be about how Hikari deals with the fact that she was too late.
Half a new variant of White Album 2, half an "if route" for these two characters, which, to be fair, doesn't help that this MC and this second FMC were already based on Haruki and Kazusa in first place:I remember reading somewhere in the comments that Maruto sensei wants to write a new variation of White Album 2 & at this point, I believe them.
She heard a lot Unravel and got crazy until the point to put Unravel as background music when she was fucking Yuu in love hotels.Forgive me, stopped taking the story seriously ages ago, but why is she this tortured soul again?
We're just a hair's breadth away from Yuu offering the threesome in a non-ironic way, we the people trust you, boy.I don't know if he confesses in a future chapter or if he's hoping one of the girls makes the decision for him.
