So the "sickly" first prince is actually roleplaying as a merchant this whole time?
He's been waiting his whole life for a situation like this to happen!I like the idea that even when he's going around as a pretend merchant, the prince keeps his full princely attire with him just in case he needs to give someone an official smack-down.

Worst part is that was a fashion trend at one point, then again so were bell bottoms and probably something of our era will make us cringe in 20 years.
I don't know if I should bonk you or agree with you

Nah, he's just in his lululemons and got all excited since it's his first time in public in a while. Exhibitionism goes along with his costume fetish....did the father always have that giant codpiece?
How could Mito Komon go anywhere without keeping his imperial seal handy?I like the idea that even when he's going around as a pretend merchant, the prince keeps his full princely attire with him just in case he needs to give someone an official smack-down.
It's the Scarlet Pimpernel rule. The sickly or foolish prince is always secretly fighting for justice in disguise. So the "sickly" first prince is actually roleplaying as a merchant this whole time?
Despite the aspect, the father IS strong, and the family dresses are VERY powerful magical artefacts: that's the reason they keep wearing them...okay but, that guard was fucking useless easily shoved aside and never gets in their way again despite the obvious confrontation.
