@LunaDW from what I can tell, the villagers had a secret well and fields. NOT informing the kingdom of this means tax evasion, and the option of asking for aid from the kingdom (since they would otherwise starve if they really didn't have a well and crops). Since the MC revealed the truth, the knights now have to take legal action, which will impact the village negatively. There is also the possibility that they attracted the goblins on purpose just to seem more pitiful and get even more aid from the kingdom.

@GodGinrai no it seems more like a problem with the region and not with the villagers being greedy, as why would you give up water to keep those with you alive then to go somewhere else and since they said the village would be erased it sounds like a very bad situation where water is very scarce.

@DeadTried Why would water be scarce if the sea is nearby and even the chief said that the pots are used to gather the water? He might have been lying on that but that doesn't mean they don't actually use them for that as well. I honestly think these guys just wanted free aid from the kingdom and now that the jig is up and they're facing punishment they're taking it out their stupid decisions on the MC.
