I remember back to my freshman year of college, one class had both a midterm and end of term paper that each were a sort of culmination of smaller papers leading up, to be somewhere in the 10-12 page range. Teacher lays out "if you put it off until the last day, you won't get a passing grade."

Midterm, did it the night before, got an A-.

End of term, again pretty much started the night before; until I inexplicably found myself waking up in my bed at 5AM with my computer turned off (I'll never be able to explain that). Turn it on to find I had around only 2 pages completed. With four hours left until class, pounded out the last 8 or so pages. Grade comes back, B+.

Never learned proper time management, but I had learned from my mom on how to write, and that's what carried me.

In my time I always use the mom card for this. Mom knows a lot more professionals than I do.

e.g. drawing the world map, creating a mini-scaled factory plant model, and making pies.
