Wow author totally ruined this side female character in just a chapter. Went from "pretty cute side love interest" to "shitshow nonsense girl" real fast.

Oh man, I feel sorry for Hoshino. That day that Eiji helped her was very memorable, but people still treated her badly after this. So she just bitterly accepted the hate and became a different person. She accepted money to start breaking people's hearts, because people thought she broke them anyway.

But Eiji and Aoi showed her so much kindness, it was hard for her to continue doing so. I hope that she accepts Aoi's relationship with Eiji, but if she continues to be a rival, oh well.

Looks like there's trouble for Shigeru though! Aoi won't ever accept you, and with what you're doing, you'll just end up abusing her and Eiji's kindness. It's time to stop!

let's be real, we all know she was saying that just to soothe her own ego lmao

A waste of a wholesome backstory now that we know she ended up walking down the wrong path after that, but Hikari did end up becoming a foil for Eiji. Both were poor but unlike him she decided to go down the cynical and shady path, becoming a manipulative girl seducing guys for money.

She's certainly not as one-dimensional as Shigeru now, but she's still an emotional abuser like him. I'm sure both her and Shigeru have left a trail of heartbroken/betrayed victims behind them. But unlike him, she seems to have gotten a chance to stop her old way of life and become a better person.

Aoi once again stood up to Hikari, and also stood up for the boy she likes. She looks like a weak softie outside, but she's got the inner strength to be facing her challenges like this. I also like that she steered the confrontation with Hikari to a more friendly tone at the end. Social skills!

Now how will they end Shigeru's meddling this time?
