Such a sweet background into his parents. Mom willingly selling her own stuff to get a suit for her husband. MC really takes after his parents well, it is nice to know that FL knew it from the start how sweet of a person he is

Young French chef named Kumazawa?

Why does it always seem so harsh learning proper etiquette? It's not like it's something strenuous. But it always seems like the harshest training you've ever experienced. Sure, his knife and fork skills are that of a pre-schooler, but still.

There's no bone in that food. You also wouldn't normally call it "flesh". It's not a word suitable for a high-class dinner.

"I somehow mastered table manners."
I question the use of the word "mastered".

Dad's cool.

I know that's what it's supposed to mean, but that's not how you write it.
In nearly all food media and literature I’ve read, that’s generally how they refer to it. The chef is referred to primarily by their specialty. Sushi chef, fry chef, saucier chef, and finally French chef. Especially since French used to be not just the region of food but meant the chef also had a type of style and class with more refined technique.

Aoi's grandfather seem to be accepting of Eiji and their relationship but I bet some rich wannabe suitor is going to object and then try to sabotage the relationship

Man up for her sake, boy. I want to see you put more effort into it! Seems to be the start of a new arc. This time set in Aoi's side of the world. I'm already expecting the next wave of love rivals, quite possible some arrogant rich dude is going to oppose them next.

Eiji's mom was an angel, she truly loved her husband leaving behind a life of riches. It's sad that she died young, but maybe she at least died happy. Better than living a long life that she'd have hated if she were married off to some rich, ugly bastard she didn't love.

Don't use your son's life story for your novel, it's too generic and full of cliches.
