The story was filled with cliché and wish fulfillment, even love rival arcs were nothing much of "I've seen it before" although Michiko being a wingman was a surprise and Hikari being a hired honey trap but also a potential love interest, but all together was a good meal to eat.

I fucking hate The Time Skip or "I'll work out my flaws on my own" trope in many stories, this is such an unrealistic bullshit to do with one you love and serves no reasonable purpose, I get it's some sort of "test of love" or stupid "being together will hinder own growth", this just doesn't work.

There's another universally praised story with numerous love interest that got this trope, one was separated by families because it would hinder their growth (stupid as fuck), another went out because she reached the limit of passing down the knowledge and went out teaching some perverted noble, another gone on the decade long journey to become worthy to protect her lover in case of danger which made him on depression arc with suicide attempts. Despite all the separation rejoined happily... But there was one realistic love interest who instead going on that kind of journey, found someone else who shared relationship hardship and got not only engaged but also made a happy family with kids...

But back to the story...

Grandpa still holding the grudge to Osamu and cutting off Eiji despite seeing exactly the same thing with Eiji and Aoi was such a let down, hopefully his family business got torn apart by shareholders. Was hoping he will support their love and decide to help his grandson with his work...

Aoi taking over (?) or working at Sweets Haven was very nice character growth, would be great if they decided to follow the same route as Kyouko and Osamu, giving The Finger to both families tho'

Shame we didn't get Hikari and Shigeru getting together BEFORE Aoi and Eiji, this would be a fun thing to make, showing their relationship didn't need a 5 years of "proving own worth" and working out their flaws together.

Well, at least Aoi and Eiji got engaged... so there's that.

Overall, with all the cliché and tropes it was a good meal, could be longer story but the axe was too sharp it seems...

7/10 is a fair rating I think..

I swear 50% of mangas that are tl by toruscans are getting axed
Thank god that isn't the case. We're currently working on 22 series (and 2 more in a subgroup). Idoltonari ends at chapter 15, unfortunately, and we'll finish that one off. AFAIK, we only have three that ended prematurely. Idoltonari, kiraboshi, and shy & poor otaku (this one).

Why the fuck do mangaka think these "I didn't see them the whole time until we got together again" endings are good? They're dogshit. They would've been apart almost twice as long as they'd spent together. Makes zero sense.
I been seeing too many of these endings recently and its just total dog shet. like bruh that's just 5 years of potential relationship development gone.

I wish some autor had the guts to laugh at this troupe of waiting years without seeing each other and even then end together, I wish that once the mc/fmc goes to the other mc/fmc to find that she/he already moved-on and got married/goes into a relationship with someone else, that would be so funny.

And you couldn't write while being a normal human being and enjoying 5 years with the love of your fucking life, why exactly?

My expectations were low, but holy shit...

I really hope people don't see BS like this and think "I can do it too!", or worse "I HAVE to do it too!" and then make the worst mistake of their life trying to prove something. Just use whatever advantages you have in life.. but be humble, thankful, and don't take that shit for granted. Capitalism doesn't reward "hard work" or "independence," it rewards capital. Don't ever forget that.

What a horrible shitty ending, it’s so bland and fast paced. Axe-kun ruined another masterpiece

Why not just run their family's zaibatsu's? I get wanting to stand on their own power, but really? Why not just be happy together instead of playing on hard mode?

Good ending overal. No ntr plot or other mens, Aoi-san is 100% loyal woman to Eiji like any of you would never found in your whole life. Glad they get married, was hoping to see their childrens.
And who say, they will not receive their parents companies ? They can still receive it.
Those with long commentaries about real life etc… Bro, this is a manga stop arguying about stuffs you can’t compare.
Go get a life, Eiji and Ao are happy and married whil you are here writing abs comment.

if this was 10 years ago, I would go "AWW THAT'S SO SWEET! He wanted to become worthy of her" but now? I find this trope to be cringe af. Also 5 years without contact? what is that dumb logic?? its so stupid.

I don't know about the others but I do got a life. I cringe at that "Working on my flaws on my own" because that's almost what happened to me and my wife. Thankfully she's stubborn enough to say we're doing this together. Looking back, those kind of things are so unrealistic.

He just decided to put their entire relationship - not just the formal engagement - on pause for five friggin' years, and that's supposed to be romantic? Good grief.
