This is officially too grimdark to put up with. Really don't get why so many Japanese writers think this sort of thing makes for compelling storytelling, though I suppose in fairness it cleary has an audience in angsty teens.

Oh good, another villain too maniacal to realize their shit plan is, in fact, shit.
One of two things will probably happen next chapter. Either the MC party will slightly struggle, as they came across an unfamiliar enemy. The other team will join them and something about the male MC having "muscle". Or, the MC party will slightly struggle, the elf or female MC will get hurt, and male MC will activate Saitama, blowing the beast away. Causing the villain to have a, "how could this happen?" moment, will return to her 'master' to report that male MC is too stronk and likely be punished by said master for failing them. Or, bonus round, both happens.
The tropes are real, people.
Plus: I didn't see a harem tag. I'm getting harem vibes from elf. Anyone else feel it? I've read enough Isekai to know where this is going.

Yeah, this isn't grimdark. Grimdark in manga is rare, REALLY rare. Probably could say there is no grimdark since I can't think of any off the top of my head. =\

Damn this got boring fast. Any isekai this moderate yet still trying to be a wish fulfilment story is doing it wrong. You either go all-in on wish fufilment and attract a certain crowd or you try to contruct an actually interesting story, OP MC or no doesn't matter but the story has to be interesting if its not just wish fulfilment.

@Vasqueztion right? Even if you aren't totally accurate in your prediction, how complicated can it even be? It's not like there's any room for character growth in any of these people. It's so stereotypical, it almost makes me wanna puke.

Now I'm following a lot of different fantasy/isekai manga and stories, and they can be a grand amount of fun and thrill, but this one is just bottom of the barrel stuff.

@Vasqueztion What's shitty about her plan, again?
I mean, you can't just expect any promising novices to be able to go Saitama after all.
And since she said that it's just experiment, I'm guessing that red orb is actually expendable, so there's nothing to lose by sending the wolf to MC.
Even in the worst case scenario where MC killed the wolf unscathed, she still at least get some intel on MC's power and can get away easily just by saying that the wolf killed her party.

Seems like a sound plan to me.

@DarkLordAlfie it's easy to make a standard happy fantasy action adventure manga. it's hard to keep it so while adding a little bit of Goblin-Slayer-Grade madness. inherently all humans are mad. some are just more insane than others.

@VladDracul2 Edgy is indeed a better word choice since the entire story isn’t hyper-violent and amoral, just segments.

@Wolvenworks Serious, dark, or morally complex stories are more difficult to write than a lighthearted adventure; this hyper-evil super-violent nonsense is just shock-value though, especially since the rest of the story doesn’t share the same tone. Game of Thrones does violent evil well, this is just cartoonishly exaggerated.
