You'd think someone trained in things like high society manners and etiquette would know how to choose her words properly. It almost seems like she has some kind of communication disorder.

She's still kind of an asshole, but almost all teenagers are kinda assholes at a little bit. That's the point of maturity, and "fake it til you make it" is one way forward. Miyabi forcing Liz to talk herself up had a similar thing going on.
As we see in this one, she was fine being a housewife, until she learned she'd be serving as a maid, and then she made being the Duke's maid her whole identity. She had the whole smallfry mentality of "my master is a Duke's heir, so I'm better than most people" since even before she was introduced as a character.

I really don't think she ever thought about her manners and etiquette; like one of those sidekicks in the Villainess stories, she's following someone with authority, so she thinks she's in the right no matter what shit she does, or how badly it reflects on her master.

Edit: Ah, look, she's holding her removed choker on the volume cover. Guess it represents a serious change affter all. Maybe from out of the lady's service and into working with Miyabi. I really hope that continuing to grow and reflect is just part of her character, now.
She isn't the type to work with MC for a long term. Probably would leave him soon after the current project ends. Plus I am sure she would go back to Chiffon.
I mean it's clear that this whole situation was something that Chiffon planned to fix Alisha's attitude and personality issues.

As for the Choker removal significant, it's probably represents her being free from the shackles she placed on herself.
I mean, as she said, the Choker was her pride and also a source of support for her as she was always alone.
By removing it she is letting go of her emotional crutches, and moving forward as herself.

Here's a hint for workplace discussions: Make sure everybody is well fed. Bring donuts. People are much happier when they have a donut in hand.
Only would work in US i guess, where Donuts are mainstream snacks.

Other regions have their own snacks culture which would be more preferable (like in my region, no workplace especially a labour type would prefer donuts, except maybe young kids or teenagers).

I thought she was in her early twenties or at minimum late-teens (aka., 18-19).

I mean Chiffon is clearly in her twenties and Alisha doesn't look that younger than her in the flashbacks.

Also, being an asshole isn't related to some specific age, so is maturity.

There are plenty of people who are asshole their entire life, and there are kids & teenagers far more mature than adults (though current social structure is actually hampering mental growth of kids by slowly keeping them away from stuff that helped them mature).

This chapter feels way too rushed. But then again, this railroad arc has gone pretty long enough. We need Liz back.

As for Alicia, well, I wouldn't say she's an asshole. She's more 'holier than thou' mindset. And to be fair, if she were a knight, it would kinda sorta been ok, or at least more acceptable.
And apparently, Chiffon foresaw this happening already as well.

Good lord I hate Alicia so much, i hope she goes away. This 'redemption' arc does not change my opinion of her at all. I hope the author get rid of her and have her less screen time. I would put her in the S tier in the most hated character list.

That's the point, trained HIGH society manners.... but now associating with LOWLY crafters. That word LOWLY is what has been ringing around in her head. What she did not have at that point was adaptability to encourage or convince people who she feels are beneath her status. And That is what needed changing

A bit abrupt of personality change.

Must be a shock from having bunch of BIG MAN ganging on her in a musky tunnel telling her she is just a bitch.

She has been interacting with them. Last chapter (chapter 39) she glared at them after they made a joke until their faces turned dark and they walked away. She called them filthy crafters. She willfully isolated from the rest of the workers and gave off the impression she'd rather be anywhere else, while maintaining her holier-than-thou attitude.

I don't recall the exact time, but multiple days of this have passed.

Edit: It was 10 days.

Edit2: The funny thing about this is that the commentary about the manipulative character being right goes both ways. Alicia did grow through Chiffon removing her from her position, however, the Duke himself had written Alicia off entirely. We saw him comment to this effect in a previous chapter, even going as far as to joke about execution, if memory serves (chapter 38).

It's not solely a "manipulative rich noble knows best" angle, it's "cunning noblewoman understands her childhood friend better than anyone else".
I'm aware she has been interacting with them, my point was more in terms of the pacing of the chapter itself: the confrontation with the crew goes from page 13 to page 16, there's then 4 pages of flashback, the talk with Miyabi and on page 29, the very next day, she gives her apology and then the crew laughs it off like there was never an issue to begin with, claiming the issue wasn't with what she said but how she said it. I still say the crew strongly overreacted and their outburst at her was completely unwarranted, serving only as a way to force the plot point 'see? she's wrong and needs to change'. Frankly I wouldn't have blamed her if she took after a certain captain, planted her legs like tree trunks and said 'no, you move.'

Maid girl is fine. Her design is better as a waifu. Seems like she won't be in this story.

Mage girl is a daughter.

If Alisha had, in fact, been a man, I think there's every reason - especially after this chapter - to think that she wouldn't have developed such a destructive personality.

More than that, however, is the perpetually unexamined fact that caste systems of all sorts - peerage, nobility, monarchy, classes in general - only serve to make life worse. They're always poison.

i like Alisha's arc. shes really abrasive, but she has to learn how to be a person and not just her job position if she ever wanted to return to her friends side. idk how much more she'll return after this arc, but that growth is good to me.

(i miss Liz though, finish this railway already...)

She got hit by the humble Japanese doormat MC energy. "I can't live like you who has no pride" was a great jab.

Chiffon being a 5head master manipulator is starting to get old. She is also the one who arranged Liz's scholarship so they can isolate Miyabi from her in order to control him better. She is in total control of the crafter prince as well. I don't know if the author is self aware enough about how all these things come across. Who is the real MC anyway? Surely not the one currently being utilized like a multipurpose tool.

Donuts \ bagels are used more where the person giving has more respect for the people giving it to (like an office setting). Pizza is the standard for most people, and usually just cheese or pepperoni (bare minimum effort and cheaper).

Had trainings (animal behavior training for a job at a zoo)where a variety of submarine sandwiches were given, or business meetings (pretty sure my father was in something like a MLM) where it was at a franchise restaurant with an open salad bar. Thoughs haven't been common.
