you can tell how good a character is when she doesn't speak a single word and almost steals the spotlight of a chapter, on the background, just eating and playing

I think I might have even said this before lol

Oh wow, I JUST finished re-reading it, refreshed and saw a new post. Much appreciated. While her new art style changing back and forth is confusing, glad to see his teachings and proving out levels working are working.
I was just thinking it was time for a re-read. Great minds. Thanks for the tl Yurie but make sure you rest too, appreciate your efforts and been reading good over here.

I was disappointed that neither Karen nor Miyabi offered to teach them anything since crafting is so underdeveloped and devalued. Then they just left after one meal. When you gotta feed a whole village though, you probably gotta hustle and there is no rest for the weary.

Thanks for the tl

Yeah somewhat surprised Miyabi didn't say much or do anything in regards to them all being crafters, considering the story has made it a point up till now that [Wind blocks] are in high demand and mostly crafters are capable of making them I thought he would have stuck his nose into the whole thing and give them some assurance that Karen being independant now.
or taught them how to make them so they could stabilize their income and not put as much burden on Karen

It seems odd to make such a remote village to get away from everyone, but then not settle where you can be self sufficient and still have to rely on money being sent home and selling in the capital...

Speaking of the capital, how did they get that cart full of carrots through that mountain pass...

D'aww. I quite like Karen, and you can really see the family resemblance across the board.
...She feels taller than usual.

It does kinda feel like Miyabi should give them all a crash course on crafter grinding so they can amp up that storage space at least. They evidently need a good common sense breaking.

Would it...become a security risk if he built actual safe roads leading to the village?

Or at the very least get out that shovel and scoop out the mountain wall to make the path at least a LITTLE less dangerous!!
I seriously thought Page 7, Panel 1, was Miyabi building a wooden rope bridge and Mel was testing it in the Raws. Now with translations, I'm not so sure. It could have just been built by the village.

In some regards I can understand why they don't. Building a safer road has the potential of inviting trouble.

It also means that there are no competing claims to the land that would imperil their ability to claim ownership. Any land next to the Royal Capital has to be governed/owned/controlled by the King/Royal Family. The further out they are, the less they have to worry about it. Also better roads mean it's easier for monsters to get in, and for the human monsters, tax collectors to try to evict them.

I'm guessing someone(s) had a bigger (standard sized Chapter 11 Page 11, Tatami Mat Size, 3' by 6') Inventory Skill and helped move it (Possibly even the mom). Or it could have been Human Wave Tactics, since it was their Winter Money. The Entire Village could have chipped in to get it to market, at least off the mountain itself.

My guess is they are mostly self-sufficient and only need a few staples from town like milled flour or raw materials like iron / steel. As for the remoteness of their settlement, they are a minority group who are discriminated against because of their skill. So look back on how people first treated Miyabi, Karen and the wall repair crews and it becomes more understandable why they would remove themselves from the capital.

As others have stated, they all have personal inventories. So it wouldnt be any more difficult then walking down the mountain. Or just build a simple crane or zipline to lower down off the mountain.

Karen you've grown up to be so cool, I'm so excited for her to found her own workshop and give her village, and her siblings, options that weren't available to them before.

It hurts my heart to think about the sheer amount of discrimination crafter's are shown in this world. It's clearly a job class that requires an incredible amount of dedication to raise, kinda like raising your skills in RuneScape or rune factory.

I imagine they had a few carriers through the pass and the cart itself is lower and safer down the mountain.

Karen seems to be depicted taller with her newfound confidence.

Which leads me to believe that Mel would either be somehow shorter if she was more timid, or we are too weak to handle her at full confidence.

I just get the feeling that mc was sent to that world to help the crafters but he just keeps doing his own thing
