ah, Parasocial relationships in a world where there is little entertainment and there is a lack of situations where such an experience could occur, so people in that world would not have much if any resistance to it. The people who hold positions against his ideas would likely gain more hostility towards him than normal, or completely avoid listening to him. Where as the people who share ideas similar to him would feel like their time interacting with his stream is similar to interacting in person. People tend to gain feelings for those who they spend a lot of time with, so it is imaginable that it would have such an effect on the viewers. It is easy to see that he wasn't a skilled streamer in his previous life, because most big streamers become very conscience of this sort of relationship, and either take advantage of it for themselves, use it to build a community, or do their best to not take advantage of it and make their viewers aware of this so they don't fall into that situation. He seems like someone who would do that later but he doesn't have the knowledge of this sort of problem.

I am guessing not every girl who is a fan is a yandere, but the yandere tend to be the people with little interaction with people on a level playing field, and so they become more obsessed. Also the yandere are the only ones who would have the drive needed to find him and make him their own.
