I'm glad this manga didn't keep going in the direction of the first chapters. Him being a great spirit should obviously make him powerful, but it also separates him from mankind fundamentally, and the time skips help to punctuate that. He's got the heart and mind of a human but everything else about him should be anything but.

The danger was never really about him overusing his power, it's about what will happen while he sleeps. He essentially created a defensive pact with everyone in the case of a war against demons. I
During his last sleep, his friend died, and an innocent village was attacked. The payoff is: what will happen while he isn't there to protect everything?

Okay sure, but we had all this buildup with multiple panels (over multiple chapters) of his hands becoming unable to continue holding their forms, and him trying to hide that - all this buildup, just for some to tell him to go to bed.
It just felt anti-climatic.

I think he listened properly cause a fellow spirit gave him the warning, makes the stakes feel more real

Well he only stopped after formus told him he's basically dying since he's a newbirn great spirit and his power needs to stabilise if it was anyone else telling him to rest he'd probably keep going
