Good job with the chapter. Thank you for posting it!

As for the actual content: I'm so friggin' sick of slave isekai junk. Screw defeating demon kings and enemy nations and corrupt churches. (Well, maybe not that last one.) What I'd really love to see is an isekai protagonist that goes all out against the whole institution of slavery. But there are only a handful of MCs that even seem to be genuinely uncomfortable with the concept.

@Enx
The next chapter is in the works right now as I'm typing this. So it won't be half a year. lmao
We'll get this done, hopefully in march. I'm not sure how long these redraws will take (there's quite a lot of them that need to be done, but nothing too major).

LoL? What a cute reaction in the last parts.
Also I seriously forgot what the heck is happening until I had to re-read chapter 6.
Thanks for the chapter V01D

@tuatara1 It's a very convenient plot device for the MC to have slaves in isekai, especially if you consider the audience it's targeted at. Just consider the fact that a number of people go to great lengths to try and justify it: scroll down a few comments and see @Operatix 's thoughts for example. And it's not like they are entirely wrong either, the author has specifically provided implicit reasons why slavery would be 'beneficial/convenient' in that case, however weak and unrealistic those may be. But to understand why this is so, one has to dig a little deeper into the success formula of isekai dealing with slavery. The whole thing basically boils down to somehow keeping beautiful women close to an often very generic and unremarkable MC (so that most people from a diverse target audience would be able to identify with him) - if you consider isekai titles then there are more than enough examples of this. This is done in order for the author to have a 'good' excuse for the harem tagging along, beyond the MC actually having qualities other than cheat abilities that would be desirable (otherwise the audience would have a harder time identifying with the MC, at the same time the cheat abilities pander to the basic human desire of success with no effort, both of these tie into the wish fulfillment part of the isekai formula). Here's the thing however, and it's the key part: the author realizes the dubious nature of slavery, but he wants to have his cake and eat it too. So he wants to leave both a leeway for people that feel possessive or even for sex slave rape fantasises for whoever fancies that, and at the same time present the slave contract as nothing more than a formality (so that the rest of the audience, willing to suspend their critical faculties, can enjoy it). It is often presented as something the MC 'had to do', or he's too 'naive' to realize the implications of, or it's too convenient and thus should be employed, or it's for the 'good' of the slaves, etc. There is no lack of excuses an author can come up with and will resort to (even though most fall apart under greater scrutiny), in order to be able to sell the wish-fulfillment idea to a more diverse and consequently larger audience.

> greentext on mangadex 😂

1. It's about wish fulfillment not self fulfillment.
2. It's not only about 'holier than thine'
3. The criticism regarding the genre being formulaic, and the total lack of originality or innovation is a valid one.

@criver

self/wish is irrelevant, it's ultimately fiction, what people like/don't like in a fiction is nobody else's business, or are you thought policing?

Regarding quality of writing.

First of all, talk to the mangaka if you really want to give constructive criticism (learn japanese first).

Secondly the forums are for content discussion.
"Muh MC is shit becuz he doesn't hate slavery" is hardly a discussion. (Genre being formulaic etc etc is true, and I agree btw)
Bitching about slavery here is nothing but virtue signaling (it's a bad platform to virtue signal in the first place anyway) , aka holier than thou.

Watch as the mangaka ignore you, a gaijin on a manga pirating website, bitching about slavery.

Go publish a written essay on twitter, it's much better.

Self fulfillment and wish fulfilment mean two very different things, the connotation being almost opposite. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that I am 'thought policing' from my initial reply, nor why you are telling me to 'talk to the mangaka'.

"Muh MC is shit becuz he doesn't hate slavery"
As I already explained, the MC is not shit only because of his lack of integrity and dubious moral values (if anything that would have made for a more interesting character if it was explored in depth in a realistic manner). He's shit because there's nothing to his character, it's the same generic MC from other isekai that acts as a placeholder for the reader, which we have seen a thousand times already. Go read my initial reply to @tuatara1 for more details on that matter.

Bitching about slavery here is nothing but virtue signaling
So doing an analysis of why slavery was implemented in the manga the way it was is 'bitching' now, is it? Also you might want to look up what virtue signaling means, because you either don't know, or you're just labeling others baselessly.

Watch as the mangaka ignore you, a gaijin on a manga pirating website, bitching about slavery.
I don't get where you get the idea that any of the comments here are targeted at the author. If anything my reply to @tuatara1 should make it more than obvious that I believe that the author intentionally uses slavery in fiction (albeit clumsily) as a plot device in order to be able target a larger audience. I actually ignored any and all moral considerations in my post, which you still managed to twist around somehow.

Go publish a written essay on twitter, it's much better.
You come off as confrontational and bigoted. It's pretty ironic too, you seem to be guilty of the things you're accusing others of the most. Projection much?

Thanks for picking it up! Can't wait to see Champion Scans claim that you sniped them after it's been over half a year since the last chapter.

@criver This is why we're friends. It's a sad reality when most consumers actually defend the gray matter this industry shits out, I mean, if they'd just stop trying to please everyone we might actually get some legitimate wish-fulfillment instead of these watered down fantasies.
