Him being a dumbass is needed. How else would the MC get that power up?Well that was just dumb. The prince wasn't even allowed to be a fake intimidating villian for a chapter. He was just immediately shown as a dumb**** who made the worst decision possible to get rid of the MC. Like bro, just kill the guy if you want to kill him. Forget the demon king, you just gave the mofo the instant power up to take over the world. Why even risk it? You know what tame is and how it works? Or is the sister the only one with brains?

Exactly. All he knows that our man's level is 7 or higher. He has no measurement of how much higher. And the tame skill powers him up with every familiar he tames, so he's accumulating a higher level with every one.So let me get this straight. This dumbass prince saw this guy tame a monster of a certain level, and assume that is his level. So you had someone use a trap to send him to a deeper level of the dungeon, believing that there will be a gap enough to prevent him from taming every monster down there. Literally a guy with zero forethought. Can't wait for everything to come down on him, from the snowball he just sent rolling.
I find the assumption that enforcing the most boring played-out cliches even had to be suggested to the author amusing~Mangaka: "Hey, we could make the villain cunning, manipulative, and clever in how he moves behind the scenes to get what he wants. That'd be interesting."
Editor: "Or, and hear me out on this, we could just make him the shallowest, evilest, most cliched villain ever."
Mangaka: "By god, you're right! That's much better!"
He's currently in a disadvantageous position. The Prince currently holds all the cards, and is obviously willing to use them. If glasses intends to make a move, he'll need to build a power base first. Now isn't the time to strike back yet, if he wants as many of who remains to survive. It seems like Glasses isn't agreeing with the prince but is too afraid to speak uo

The problem with writing intelligent characters is that they can only be as smart as the author writing them.Mangaka: "Hey, we could make the villain cunning, manipulative, and clever in how he moves behind the scenes to get what he wants. That'd be interesting."
