Rival would imply they are around the same level. The man's son does not have many viewers and he doesn't upload nor stream often.

Forget rival, the kid is a slime while the MC is the dungeon master. Not on the same level at all.
Well, the old man clearly doesn't really understand that stuff.

So since this is being blasted all over social media, how exactly is this non-public information?

At this point, you're trying to rage bait, dying on a hill for no reason, or feel a need to defend the author over something unnecessary. I'm not criticizing the story. The implication in the dialogue is that they're making money by buying stocks in the bank before the knowledge that he's changing banks goes public. Otherwise, actual stock traders would have beat them to the punch and they wouldn't have profited. Yes, there is a mob outside, but they don't necessarily know what he's going to decide with his banks, just that he is DJKG. Dumb argument. I suspect you're being insincere, so I'm done with this thread

Saying he cant disclose anything because of the rules yet breaks them to tell confidential information which causes his own downfall. Serves him right.

Cool story brah... or not. Already covered this in a response to someone else's post. The real answer is "it depends". As in where you are, what their laws and regulations are, and if they even give two shits at all. It really is all regional based.

As for your assumption that they would loose out just because they acted after announcing the transfer of banks, they would first have to see that bit of news, and be primed to take advantage of it. If Proto-1 and Ayano-san were so primed, and expecting the news, they could make their trades at the same time everyone else was scrambling. True not much different, but that's how it's done...

I like to imagine the dumb ads father and son end up on a Deadliest Catch boat getting yelled at by an over stressed captain and cleaning ice off the deck with a sledgehammer while almost dying every day at work. And they never hit the big catches. Always half empty pots at most and ones they have to toss back.

Yeah Kijima. Typed her name wrong lol.

While I agree with you on the MC being the perfect partner for most women, I doubt that's the reason as her debut chapter showed that it's love at first sight.

Well, guess we'll have to wait for a future chapter to explain it.
LN has polygamy tag so I hope to go she ends up in the harem. She’s absolutely best girl for me.

Also did a little sanity check to make sure to make sure I wasn't completely talking out of my ass. Skimmed Wikipedia and a few other sites(no ai overview) and it basically comes down to "it depends". Different regions have different rules, laws, and regulations. Some places it's fine, others it's frowned upon but not illegal, and sometimes it's a criminal offense. And even before all that, even the legal experts disagree on what even constitutes criminal insider trading.

So it all ammounts to if you don't get caught, only the SJWs cares. And if you do, it could be tied up in litigation for years before even bothering to bring formal charges, or are dropped.

--edit--

Added tidbit I just remembered, forgive me I'm old...

Banks don't really insure accounts after they reach a certain threshhold. They also use the money you placed in some accounts for investments of their own. And they really really don't like it when you pull large quantities of money out of your accounts because it screws with those investments. So DTJT moving his account out of Yoko Bank would cause all sorts of major headaches for the bank in addition to the hit to their reputation.
Yes, that is the reason I think the manga version did this arc worse, I really liked how in the WN the bank boss begged MC to not retire his funds. in the end he left a account with zero money in it and the boss was satisfated by it, I imagine because he could use the excuse that "DJTC didn't close the account with our bank, there was a problem with a branch manager but it was resolved internally, his opening a account with another bank is a personal thing and is normal for rich clients to have multiple accounts".
Lost the massive amount of funds but could still bullshit that he was one of their clients.
