The other commenter is right that the bullies are pretty standard for this sort of story. But I agree that the writing feels on the weak side, and I don't think that following all the expected tropes is necessarily a good thing.

But what gets me the most is the way that the fact they were missing for a year seems to have been largely brushed aside. That's the sort of thing that should be a big deal, and if it's not going to matter much, why not make only a few hours pass instead?

Also Rumi keeps mentioning the other world in front of other people too. Sometimes it could be argued that no one else would hear her, but she also did it when they were right in front of the reporter.

And the "I'm powerless without you, my master" but in the description is clearly completely wrong, unless it's not supposed to be Rumi who's saying it.

And you'd also think they would have worked out their feelings for each other by now, after fighting together for so long.

Basically, I think there are plenty of small problems with this story, that don't necessarily add up to become a major issue, but have the potential to. For now, I think it's above average and I'm cautiously optimistic.

Interesting. The characters don't really look the same, at least in the volume covers. But that could just be because they have different artists.

Looking at the author's other works, they've got 15 mangas on this site, and at least six of them are about tamers, including these two, with at least four of those tamers taming girls.
And also one of the other non-tamer stories seems to be about a dungeon livestreamer.

Basically, the author certainly knows what they like.

Looks like the author really think of Rumi as the MC's pet dog. Always jumping in to defend him, worshipping him without reason, relying on him to take every decision... She's not a character, she's a foil to make the MC look better. This girl that we're told in the first chapters is popular, beautiful, smart, strong, etc... somehow can't stop to gush about how great the MC is, how he could do anything, yada yada... and needs his approval for doing anything.

funny part is that the bullies are actually well written by manga standards. They pulled shit once and then got made fun of and backed off. we're not smoking crack our expectations are just extremely low

I like that the leads actually just beat them with words in the beginning of the chapter now that I read it (I called for violence in the last chapter), and then also asked for help from someone with influence aka the journalist. Bright kids.
