The way the author handles Kayako was my biggest gripe with the WN. It's done horribly. He says stuff like he tried to help her or whatever but he helped her less than he did total strangers. She and her mom are the closest things to a family he had left and he's leaving them to their demise. I feel worried for what's going to happen next. I hope it's not as bad though compared to the WN. He really should have level drained her or revealed he was strong from the beginning. It's weird how he says he cares but the easiest and simple way for him to make sure she's fine is to train her.

A lot of OP MC in these kinda stories have this repulsion to help raise their family members or friends. That one Avalon manga did it right. The MC in that one isn't hiding his expertise from his family and is making sure they're able to level up and survive on their own without him. The author is forcing it too hard to make kayoko go down a bad end m it's obvious.

I've read the spoilers from previous chapter comment section, and I wholly agree. And tbh I never thought about other stories utilizing similar tropes, but you are right on that too. It's often the family that is somehow the root of all evil when the story itself contradicts its own narrative that is making me hard to cheer for main characters.

What's the Avalon manga btw? You've piqued my curiosity, and I now want to check it out!

MC is a bit weird, he show composure and maturity when it related to dungeon stuff or skills and power but totally became a teenager when he got hurt by a girl.
Like, isn't his mental age is around 25years old? But a SINGLE girl hurt him and he goes "my hatred for other women is only growing", it's not like he got cucked by 10 girls or anything sheesh.

Seriously the author seems confused with MC mental age due to his teenage physical body.
It isn't weird. He spend decade, or something, in another world cleaning dungeons. All other 'experiences' were pushed aside in favor single-minded goal "Return to Home". He was caring only about the ones that necessary for survival or achieving his goal.

Yeah yeah kayo is a hoe now lets not forget MC is the adult here.
He saw her gradual decline and just acted like it doesnt concern him so has no right to be disappointed now.

Wasnt he on good terms with the auntie? Why does he not care THAT SHE FUCKING DIED AND THE KILLER IS HER OWN DAUGHTER, HIS CHILDHOOD FRIEND.
Maybe it isnt just weird writing, the MC might actually be autistic.

Imagine one day you get a call from your friend because they accidentally killed their mom.
Thats fucking soul crushing, life changing, an entire stories worth of trauma...here its nothing? Nobody cares?????

I dropped the WN when she became a reaper or something after becoming a prostitute and killing her family. Author went too far and ruined the MCs last connection to his life before he isekai'd all for a side plot. Like bro if you see your last remaining friend start to spiral do you just ignore it? You have everything in your disposal to help them but instead you care more about some stupid anime. Yes MC is fucking child who saw his CHF and her mom's life be ruined because she fell for something he saw in the other world countless times. He could have prevented it, he saw and knows why she's acting that way and he refuses to move because he's a spoiled fucking brat because he's strong.

Like I don't understand this though process of his to not train her properly as an adventurer. She's his only thing to a family he has left and he treats her less than a stranger. He could have included her into the streaming thing to but no. Oh but when a couple of new girls who clearly only like him for his strength as well want to be trained by him it's all good. A dogshit MC and I'm probably going to drop it here looking at the raws it's going the WN route.

Ryoji is genuinely being awful here. He literally could've prevented all of this if he just showed a fraction of his power to her and fully lectured her. His passiveness is one of the reasons Kayoko became like that and if you're friends with someone, you should steer them away from making awful choices. It's like the author just wanted her to be a hate sink.

Yeah his parents died like the day after he came back and he's worried about a curse. But when he starts seeing Kayako change he thinks it's natural. Despite seeing what happened to his parents and how he saw similar things happen to people in his other world. What is even the con of telling her his power. Nothing. He revealed it to total strangers but not his childhood friend who needed guidance. He's a joke of an MC.

And now that he has returned home he puts anime above all else. He's a child. He's never going to grow either because he's going to be coddled and praised by everyone because of how amazing he is. He is an awful protagonist. It's weird how he has experienced the other world firsthand similar things he's experiencing in this world and he ignores it. He sees signs of kayoko becoming arrogant like in his other world and ignores it. He even sees how people doubts his power in the other world but gets annoyed when kayoko doubts him not showing anything. It's so bad and forced you can just tell the author is going for a bad villain end with kayoko.
