Sometimes I'm jealous of this guy. But, honestly, I don't think I want a life of worrying how I die every day. He earned it.
You know, you don't need to autisticly dungeon dive like he does right? I assume there are other ways to make money.

I want a chapter focused on Sherry alone, it's awesome to have both of them, but I want to see how Sherry interacts with him alone. Just imagine both of them alone and Sherry sitting on his lap while he spoils her, it'll be pretty cute.

He's also inexperienced and can't take that much of a beating. His offence is far above what's needed, but his defence leaves room for improvement.
I mean, not really? If there's any weakness there it's shrinking day by day, Sherry's ability to make enhanced equipment 100% could let him make an Orichalcum breastplate with something ridiculous like "physical damage reduction plus absorb fire + water + wind + earth attacks while leaving his other equipment open to do whatever other broken stuff is available to him like ailment immunity and automatic HP + SP regen or whatever is possible, forming a set of equipment that would make him or anybody wearing it into a living god.

That's before we consider that his 4th slavewife will raise his endurance massively, and that at a moment's notice he can raise the level of himself and his entire party into the stratosphere and get his hands on incredibly powerful and rare advanced jobs for minimal risk thanks to 20x exp gain and identify, all of which are raising his stats higher and higher for each extra level they gain even before we consider he has 4 to 6 of them at any given time.

Plus as they say, offense is the greatest defence. Can't die if nothing can hit you and his offensive ability is going to hit absurd levels. The above would mostly be there to help with mistakes and the unexpected.

The only pity is that neither of them can bear him a child.
NB: Personal speculation with minor spoilers for manga-only readers
  • There are starter jobs (eg: villager, thief, explorer) which have no prerequisites.
  • There are basic jobs (eg: warrior, alchemist, wizard, etc) which have a level 5 prerequisite, plus some action prereq.
  • There are prestige jobs (eg: knight, cook, etc) which require getting a basic job to level 30, plus some action prereq.
  • There are intermediate (called advanced*) jobs (eg: adventurer, grand wizard, etc) which require getting a basic or prestige job to level 50.
  • There was a setting (in the web novel, at least; the manga seems to have skipped it) which allowed you to break the level 99 cap. Michio obviously didn't need it, so skipped it. It was commented on when he was first setting up his character, and then never mentioned again.
So I speculate that advanced jobs unlock at level 100 of an intermediate job. I also speculate that the advanced version of Sex Maniac (the human racial job) allows interbreeding with other species.

Not that we're ever going to get there, given the pace of the story.

* The story calls the level 50 requirement jobs "advanced" jobs, but the grand wizard job only goes from beginner magic to intermediate magic, not advanced magic. Thus I think that to the 'system', those jobs are actually just intermediate jobs, and people are flat out unaware of the possibility of actual advanced jobs.

The primary limiter on that train of thought is the rate that he can acquire the enchantment crystals (cards in the web novel). He seems to get maybe one or two per week, and that's while keeping an open bid at the auction house active. Actual monster drops are almost non-existent. Plus, the auctioned crystals tend to be the basic ones, not the "good stuff".

And then there's the issue of actually acquiring the orichalcum for such gear. If he can't deconstruct existing gear (which I'm pretty sure the basic Master Smith can't do), he's limited by the rate at which they can acquire the ore from the dungeon, though he may be able to get some from auction. Finding pre-constructed armor for sale would be rare, and even then you have to hope it has a decent number of enchantment slots for it to be worthwhile.

Either way, until he figures out a job with a "Treasure Hunter" passive, getting god-tier equipment isn't happening any time soon.

anyone knows if will take much time for the next slave to be added to the harem? i like how things are now but its almost a slice of life in the last few chapters
Spoilers ahead:
When compared to the LN, current chapter is the 3rd part of the LN's volume 5, chapter 25: Cassia. I don't know how many parts this chapter is going to have, this could've been the last one but then again it might have more.
Next, after finishing with Cassia, we're moving into volume 6 territory of the LN:
First chapter is 26: Meteor Crash, then chapter 27: Bandit, and ONLY THEN chapter 28: Miria (after Michio gains enough money from trading mirrors and amber, he decides to go and buy a new slave, which is of course Miria).
If you ask me, we are AT LEAST 9 months away from Miria (unless of course the author starts publishing new chapters faster than one every month), so just hang tight there, we'll get there eventually...

But chain mail is pretty bad vs impact, in fact metal armor is generally not that great vs impact. Also armor doesn't reduce your mobility as much as most people think.

It's shrinking because he's getting more experience. It wasn't long ago he was completely downed by the ant poison. That happened because of his inexperience, and his equipment or abilities didn't save him. His defence is clearly lacking.

Also, answering with spoilers is a non-argument. It doesn't apply to the current situation, and it's rude.

It's not hard to move in chainmail, but it's taxing on your endurance. And I wonder what they mean by "hardness", since chainmail is soft in terms of blunt force protection.
That sure is a hit. But impact resistance is not what chainmail is good for.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the world building in this is a cut above most other stories (be it LNs or mangas). In most other mangas that I read, most of these "small" details would be cast off as "uninteresting" or "irrelevant", while in reality they matter A LOT.
You can see the author did a lot of thinking when writing this, and it makes the immersion 10x better - for me at least - and makes me appreciate the author for seriously thinking about the little details, making me love this manga even more.
Too bad we get a dosage of it only once a month 😢
Think it's still a partial fail though. I do agree that many authors and mangaka forget most armor without under layers would be uncomfortable and in some case outright harmful to the wearer, the way this setting handles armor is only marginally better.
Chainmail is quite bad for 'blunt' attacks, which is what that caterpillar's attack was about, so yeah, Sherry should be all sore and purple right now.
Most of the 'advanced' armour was/is composite, so I find the the talk about the armour layers kinda odd.
It's kinda ironic how they upgraded their armour while they kept their 'helmets' the same, because the head injury is the worst thing which could happen to you in a fight.
  • chainmail is metal. Metal is hard. Metal is also noticeably harder and more durable than leather. You will survive more with a chain hauberk than leather (especially from slashes)
Chainmail is easy to repair once damaged... unlike the leather armour.

It doesn't have to be quick, the point is that he can make it happen for sure, 100% while nobody else could, thanks to his ability to identify and understand empty slots. He could pretty much just sit on a lower floor and nuke enemies down while forming yellow and white crystals, then use the money from those to easily win auctions for equipment he knows has 4 or 5 slots and the cards to use with them, or just from some specialist trader that deals in top level equipment and cards.
