I think the one thing I hope for is that her magic comes with a cost for her - we see her exhausted at the end of the chapter, and I hope that it's one of those cases where, at least for a good while yet, she can't just spam "omni-renewal" and immediately get on the easy road to comfort and success.

If she has to be strategic in how, when, and where she uses it, then I think this series has fantastic potential. Cute character designs, no "oh I'm in the book I was reading and I know all the characters and flags", her family seems very "good" (no shitty parent), with a bit of mystery attached.
If the author treats her like a 10 year old who has to work around that reality, and makes it so she can't just use her magic with impunity right off the bat, then I'll be very excited about having a new series to follow.

Thanks for the TL work.

I feel at her current "just recovered from sick" that should have knocked her out, because renewing an entire room you would hope would sap a bit of energy even when you're in exceptional health. But, given her current response, I'm guessing the scope will only grow when she becomes healthier.

It growing over time would be more than reasonable; that's how I would hope magic would work in any realistic setting, especially when the user is a child who also grows over time alongside it.

I just hope she can't break the laws of conservation of energy or anything dumb like that. Even when she's healthy, I hope there's actual cost to her to use something that is even as potent as this "household magic" of hers.

Victorian aesthetic is interesting; very unique choice there.

What I don’t get is, if they’re at starvation-meals levels of poverty, how/why are they hanging onto servants and carriages?

even noble houses have appearances to keep up - destitute doesn't mean things like pride & honor aren't still in play, even if it's nonsensical.

More pragmatically, though I'm making assumptions here, but -

Could be that the servants aren't taking pay, and are there to help as extra hands around the manor with things like laundry and the three young children, so as to not leave the father entirely on his own with everything that caring for a home would entail.
And the carriages could ostensibly be used by those same servants in running errands like groceries and the like. It would go against the "image" that a noble house would want to uphold, but it would at least be utilitarian and reasonable.

She removed scratches. That's inherently breaking conservation of mass, and the scope of damage she could repair could potentially make a lot of money by itself.

"Accelerating growth" cloth
"Enhanced cleaning" potted plant

I didn't explain myself well - I meant more in the sense that sometimes you see these series where the person doing the magic/using the skill just spams it endlessly with no "cost" or to any detriment toward themselves.
If, at least for the foreseeable future, doing what she did causes her to be completely worn out and useless for the remainder of the day, then that's a "cost" of erasing wear & tear that's taken from her own personal energy stores and/or actual vitality, and would thus honor the conservation of energy in a more significant fashion than if she could just go "fix this table" "fix this wall" "fix this barn" and it doesn't leave her sick in bed for a week or something.
I don't know if that will be the case here or not, but I hope that maybe there will be balance to her abilities, given she can push "commoner magic" beyond what it normally would be.

I do like how gritty the setting actually is, not the stereo type sterile European mansion we often see. Plus, it is cold because there would be no central heating.

Ya someone translated the AI series!
wait is this series ai?
I don't think this series is AI, because the WN is written in 2022
Someone asked the same thing in the reddit thread, and after some digging I think I know the context

This is specifically referring to Modest Skill “Tidying Up” is the Strongest! ~ Corporate Slave Office Lady Started An Accidental Isekai Revolution, and is Now Adored by the Head Knight and His Majesty the Emperor, which won a publishing contest hosted by AlphaPolis that was rescinded when they discovered the WN was AI-generated.

Funny enough the author doesn’t consider this a loss but rather a “learning situation” and they’re still looking to make a series which can only be done in conjunction with AI.

The full details. Point is that this is not that series, as far as we know it’s not AI generated

Oh this is a good set up. Magic restrictions, the old life is still around a bit, mystery what happened to the family, and cute art.
