Oh no, I'm fully aware these douche canoes are fully capable of killing the slaves for less, it just that with all the recent hullabaloo with the forest barrier, the crack in the crystal, and backlash from failed rituals, their supply of sacrifices is rather low. Heck I would even hazard a guess there isn't even much in the way of a civilian population left either.

I'm just hoping there will be enough slaves left in the end to witness the utter downfall of their tormentors. Because at some point, the mooks are going to get tired of the bullshit and just going to throw king Asshat into the ritual and be done with it.

while i don't mind this kinda back and forth, i wonder when the story will evolve for real. those escaped slaves will likely flee far from the kingdom and might reach our protagonist, leading to his better understanding, if he accepts the truth, of his abilities and open the plot to more interactions with humans, which tends to bring in conflicts but as such also plot progressopm.

the novel's kinda all over the place too..
constant switching of POVs, coz it's more of like they're simultaneously happening..

chapters btw are per POV,
1 chapter = 1 person, unless otherwise stated..
default POV is by MC, so you won't really get some things until you get into specific POVs..

confusing at first but you'll get used to it.


only 2 slave children reached our MC (the pups' meddling lol)
the remaining slaves actually found their way to the beast kingdom

MCs obliviousness of his situation actually still continues a bit longer.. iirc it's until the end of the 2nd vol that he can now talk to his companions. It's a series of coincidences and misunderstandings really..

I remember he just woke up and straight up talk to koa and the others like it's a normal day then realising too late that he can finally converse lmaoo

Read the chapter twice just because of how good that was. Then realized the second time around that this dickwad of a king even enslaved his "wife & daughter". Looked like the wife had her emotions taken from her just like the beast men. My opinion of him just gets worse & I can't wait till he gets FULL retribution.
