So the princess is the demon mage?
Well between her strange warmongering tendencies and having the exactly same hurt arm is not hard to understand. Probably the demons already infiltrated the castle and used that human kingdom to atack others so only humans suffer the brunt of the war losses, while they play puppetmaster in the shadows laughing at the foolish humans

Sadly the author is not very subtle at foreshadowing

I mentioned the WN author deleted their work to not cannibalize LN sales. Posting back to say it does still exist on archive if you know where to look for it. (Raw, however.)

If someone wants to back-translate it, go nuts. But if author wants to torch their own works, that's on them. Just makes me less inclined as a reader to engage with, discuss, or support them.

Same for authors that are prolific, but abandon works 30 chapters in, just to start a new series. Makes me think "why am I following this?".

There is a proverb in my country that said "Write by hand erase by feet". All thing considered, arts priorities was for people to enjoy making money came second, reverse that and it's just not feels right with me.

I think that means you destroy your own work, which can have several meanings.

This chapter solidify my interest for this series. Others can hate Riku, but I like him as cautious MC and his quick witted, reflecting how he IS a grown man. And overall situation that does not makes me sneeze.

My favorite part on the king and his guards on guards againts him, and how they have adult talk UNLIKE WHAT'S SEEN A TEENSIE ROMANCE.

Here me out, what if the royal family of Localis got replaced by the demons and actively sabotaging the demonic war efforts by acting greedy? That would be a change of fress air.

I wonder why MC wants to preemptively start the war. There's got to be some reason. I'm guessing it's to catch the other kingdom off-guard while also no longer needing to follow along with the other kingdom's previously negotiated demands.

Honestly I didn't piece everything together on my own, and judging by the comments others didn't either. I knew Localis was in cahoots with the demons somehow, but your idea makes it call come together.

Hmm, so why would the demons even want to bring the heroes to their world though? Aren't the heroes the only real threat against them?
You could argue that the demons wanted the heroes to cause mass damage to the humans (via war), but that still requires the demons bringing the only enemy strong enough to defeat them to their world themselves... so a stupid play on their end.

So I feel like there must be more to the what's going on than the princess simply being the demon.
Not to mention she should be asking the kids who that old man is, and asking why he's so strong - were the princess the demon.

The old man is an anomaly (both power and sawy) while the intended heroes would be easy to not only control/manipulate but also be disposed before they become a threat.

They might have huge potential but they start weak so they are the perfect pawn to use and discard: Not weak to be useless but also not strong from the start so they arent a threat unless they let them become one

He slapped tracking magic on the Demon Mage, so he probably saw her retreat to Localis and put two and two together.

Could be a summoning limit, and if they grab the heroes first and keep them weak and imprisoned then the other human countries can't summon more.

Uh… I see… the thick plottens… :thonk:
I like that the kids are a bit too trusting on certain parts, but not completely, and they are able to see the inconsistencies in the princess’ story and behavior. :O

As for why the summoning if the demons have such control of the situation… that might be pure over confidence and pride. And TBF, if the targets had ended up being only the 2 or 3 kids originally intended, they would have been easily manipulated into the perfect war tools… not only decimating a big part of humanity, but casting a big stigma in the very process of summoning heroes, by putting the whole blame on them, saying the summoning instead brought villains that betrayed humanity.
