Found this from the update just now... hmm okay ya I think I like this one. The protagonist is a legitimately good person and has maintained a good sense of caution as well. It's believable that this is your typical Dragon Quest style Hero now grizzled into an older veteran. Also while strong he's not doing absurd shit like running fast enough to trivialize travel distances like some speedster super hero. His magic also hasn't been used to just outright negate the plot which is a huge plus.

She was hiding her intentions even from the soldiers of her own country. She 100% wants this war, and will even resort to a sneak attack to win.

The MC certainly is consistent with the way he teaches his lessons.

"You fucked up and now something horrible is going to happen to you. Jk, but you should be more careful since not everyone is going to stop at that".

The instant he comes across somebody who he misjudges the power of, that type of "lesson" is going to backfire. It honestly strikes me as a bit conceited, since he's constantly assuming that he has all the information needed to know it won't backfire. In a new land where there might be new rules to magic.

He's been in this world a while, and already checked to see if "Laws of Physics" level differences in magic existed.
