That's a dangerous moral for a story. A country, that gets invaded can be thankful afterwards. That isn't true in most cases. Believing that is dangerous. They didn't even star the "war". You can give food replicators and anti-gravity cars to them. Hospitals, schools, all kind of luxuries. Don't believe they will be thankful! Not for a moment!

Yeah, the moral here is pretty backwards. Thank your colonizers, kids! They know what's best for you, after all.

@Qelix Maybe, just maybe, the difference between an irl invasion and this fictoinal one is the massacre and/or rape of the invaded countrymen committed by the invading country... If you dont commit such anger/revenge inducing things against them, I don't think the general populace will care at all about who is standing on the top doing invisible things like earlier.

Then again, good luck preventing your army to commit such trash and keep their morale up at the same time. :)

There's a difference between invading a place using the least amount of force possible and fucking killing and raping everyone creating anger and sorrow everywhere, in this case it was : ''welp we lost, but everyone is alive and they dont wanna kill us, looks like we just became part of this village territory or something, they gave us stuff so its not bad''.

And wow the wolves spidermaned that shit!,good strategy nad i really like when the spiders go hi with their little legs, they are absolute powerhouses but polite ones

@Maala: Maybe, but many people would just be piss, by losing their "freedom". Heck, even "They are not us." would be enough to get them pissed.

@Qelix Probably, a lot of dogs will bark just like they barked even before everything changed. :) But it's just like that, barking.

Does these lamia have some kind of strength-admiring culture?
I mean, they are quite obedient to their invader, as well as calling "master".
If so, I'm surprised none of them are looking for revenge/rematch (whatever reasons of resistance) or schemes. Didn't one or more family members of theirs getting hurt?

just look at colonized countries in Asia, some countries colonized by a certain country are prospering and became a developed country themselves
I think most of them are thankful they were colonized by that certain country and not the other, at least that what I think, kinda jealous of those some countries, maybe then my country won't become a trash filled country like it is now

There's also the angle that the village didn't know there were intelligent monsters living there so the wolves bullying them was more or less an accident.

@Fuko they challenged the dungeon for the exercise, but MC told them not to get too carried away, and get injured, when he found out about it. That's why they held back.
