So what if it has to go through the forest? Taiju Village has plenty of people for whom that is no obstacle. Presumably, the second village won't, thus creating a power imbalance resulting in exactly what they want: cheap labor slaving away in the fields because they only have one trading partner and very little bargaining power.

But nothing so crass as actual slavery under threats of violence.

Why yall still butthurt about creating 2nd village?
Its apparent from this chapter, some member of the taiju village basically think hiraku is a god descended or at least close to it
Some of them even worship him lmao

Watching people complain about this manga is like watching someone order tacos from Jack-in-the-Box and complain they're not "authentic". The issue isn't that you dislike it, the issue is that we're at chapter 58 and about 57 chapters ago you should have figured out this was a Jack-in-the-Box taco, not authentic Mexican grandma made taco....

I have to admit, on this particular chapter, I completely blanked out. I felt like I read it all, but I only received about 20% of it all.
I only understood that they want to have a sports event, there's an issue with it due to the races, but I totally blanked out on most of the details.

That just goes to show ya why people can read it to begin with. It's possible to zombie out while doing so.

you can enjoy something while still criticising its inconsistencies or leaps in logic.

Agreed, what is even the point of making a second village again?
The dude wanted to introduce more males into his, but that got sidetracked.
At this point i think it would be better if the dude just sneaked out at night and left everyone.

For someone looking to lighten his work load, MC is an expert at adding new things to his todo list.

As for the complaint about the plot, the whole point of adding men to the village was originally because he couldn't handle all of the women himself. Now instead they are making a second village with men to be used as laborers. Which doesn't actually fix the problem that was initially stated, that he was the only fertile male in the current village (until the Beastmen boys and his son grow up). Plus is doubles back on the statement that "oh, no one can work on the grounds except for me because I have the AFT", by stating that men can work on the fields just fine as long as we have enough of them. Why? Why can they work the fields without the Farming Tool, but the women can't? It makes no sense. He's overworked. He needs help. The women can't help, but the men, who are weaker than the women, are somehow able to help?
Also how exactly are they suppose to commute from their village to Taiju village through the forest of death to work on the fields. Since they have sent out a scouting party, it sounds like they aren't putting the new village adjacent to the current one, so you would have to traverse through the forest to get to Taiju village to work the fields to traverse back at the end of the day. The logistics of the whole thing is horrific. There's a reason why the workers quarters is generally in the middle of the plantation/field. Or will the angels/dragons provide a psuedo taxi service to move the men back and forth daily?

@degenerateafro other villages have fields too, the MC just has a magic tool that grows whatever bullshit he's thinking about, and in about a fraction of the time it should normally take. Sounds like the second village is supposed to be self-sufficient too, with its own fields. The only commute would be for transportation of goods between the two, probably. I suppose it might make sense, if the second village is for dealing with people on the other side of the Forest, like a storefront.

@Supercheese Oni maid didn't seem to need rails, so more like one of those concept jet cars; Elves were more off-roads, all terrain, types; and Dwarf just bulldozes.

@CountryMage In the story the other villages are outside of the Forest of Death. Only ground he has tilled will be fertile inside of the forest of death. Basically it goes like this:
1. Fields he has never tilled are infertile and cannot be used.
2. Fields he has tilled once, but someone else actively farm will grow at a slow rate.
3. Fields he actively tills will grow quickly and produce the best items. (most of this information is from chapter 19).

However in the past chapter he has stated alternately that either no one except for him can work on the land and that he needs men to help with the farming.

Yes, other villages grow food, but they are doing so outside of the forest of death. That is why he needed the Dragons and Lamia to handle the trade routes, since it takes so long to transport items between locations. They mentioned that it takes about 10 days to travel to the beast man village. I forget how long it takes them to make it to the Demon Kings castle, but it's not a short trip.

The problem I'm referring to is that he is making a new village inside of the forest of death to have men working on the fields. But unless he tills the ground around the new village, the fields will be infertile. Also he states that he needs help with his current workload of fields. So building the second village would need to be somewhere within commuting distance of the first village. Which it doesn't sound like will be the case since he sends the girls out to scout other locations to place the new village. You need to be able to traverse to the fields on a daily basis in order to assist with farming them.

@degenerateafro yeah, now go back over everything you just said. He's the only one that can till new fields in the Forest of Death, they won't let him leave the village, and the girls are scouting around for a new village location in relatively remote areas. All the signs point to either a close enough location, along the path he dug before (remember he tore up a large part of that forest when looking for a town, and then for a river, in the first couple chapters), or a new village outside of the Forest of Death. If it's along the trench he dug before, they don't need him to till it, since he already changed the soil there to something harmless years ago, and if it's outside the forest, it will just be a normal village anyway.
