I’m very confused. Like, i see the generalised hate for ntr, but:
1) NTR is in the title. What were you expecting when you picked up this title? What makes you think the ntr bit is going to change anytime soon?
2) the protagonist is the bull. Surely even the most thin-skinned of habitual projectionists should be okay with that? Unless, of course, they always project on to the one getting cucked, at which point i think you’ve got other things going on.
Seriously though, “i like this manga’s art but i hate the actual concept/plot and want it changed for my personal enjoyment” is a pretty bad take. The art’s not that good. There are less controversial titties to look at. Go find some.
TLDR:
I read this manga because it's generall prove itself able to overcome the label of being called fetish material. Be it through charactrs or art, I went from reading the first 2 chapters for the memes to actually being invested in the fights and characters, as the author generally seems to put more effort than I'd expect from a title like this.
Actual explanation/yapp session:
Honestly, it was for the memes at first, but this manga generally is written in a way where I think the NTR is made purposely more insidous than any regular hentai, which makes it alot easier to dislike Naoto and ironically get invested in his interactions with those he meets.
Most NTR stuff is usually something like 'mc destroys already disfunctional relationship' or 'mc is a scumbag bully from the jump'. Characters are usually just set pieces for the fucking, but when I read this manga it applies actual meat to their identities, making it harder to dismiss.
Main points:
1. When I picked this up, I was expecting something generic and low effort, maybe 1 or two chapters to get a laugh out of. However, the mangaka really ended up capturing and proving me wrong with how good the fight scenes and character designs are, atleast compared to other isekais. Especially these recent chapters have honestly made me invested, the art and the fights are consistently good. If I'm being honest, the manga felt less like fetish material and began to feel like it had something going for it.
2. From the jump, they made Naoto instantly different from most NTR bulls in that his relationship with the mc is far more complicated than most would make it, and therefore causes any NTR. Which honestly most encounters in the first half of the story weren't really NTR, just rape, something that generally made me raise a brow at what it was even trying to do, given that it did present them as insidous. I began to feel alot more invested in the story than I usually would because of the conflicts were presented. It helps that in his own right, Kenji himself is presented as a character alongside Naoto in this sense. The characters aren't simply 'faceless', atleast the male characters. Female characters probably do need more work.
Whether it was how the story actually presents Naoto as generally unhinged and not just a faceless bull, or how his relationsip with Kenji is rooted in his own complicated feelings, and actually has far more internal consequences then you'd think. I understand why you think I'm projecting but it's really just my own fascination with the story and how the mangaka gives complexity to what should be a generic fetish story.
Conclusion:
I could do a whole spheal on what I like about this manga, but to make a long story short, I'm generally expecting more because the mangaka shows they are capable of more compared to the source material it came from. After all, despite the concept I feel like they've done things to generally make it feel more than it is. You may disagree but it's just my opinion.
I mean, my opinion somewhat falls along the lines of rexmundi where this is "a train wreck in a good way", where I want to see Naoto mount consequences until they finally fall all around him or until he actually turns around for the better.
Also just an extra note, I find it odd you think the art isn't that good, I think the mangaka generall sucks with drawing sex scenes(they are literally generic fight me on that) but everything else they generally do pretty good when it comes to making characters, showing off abilities and doing fight scenes.
I know alot more isekai where they don't look half as good as this. Even ones as I like such as, 'Re:Monster', 'My next life as a villainess' or 'The World of Otome games is tough for mobs' don't have art styles that generally appeal to me like this one does. It's why I hope the author is allowed to explore more outside of the source material so they can really blossom more with their skills here, as its clear they enjoy drawing certain things compared to others.
Alright, that's my yappathon, hopefully some of what I'm saying made sense. I will admit I'm weirder than other poeple since i kind of read everything from slice of life, to murim and shonen, to seinen and horror, be it manwha or manga, so I probably read deeper into this than other poeple and don't just look at the titties.
