this is quite sad, did you guys forgot chapter 1? were her dad had the last fight with her and she killd him in battle??? this might mean something happen to her mom and the dad was left living alone with her T^T only for him to decide that he was gonna die while fighting her after her training was done T^T

Probably disease like tuberculosis for example. That was rampart in those times. So her mother caught something and died from it, then her father also caught it and decides to die by his daughter blade instead of the disease like a samurai.
