What a waste. Damn. It would have been killer to see how someone subverts the usual isekai and wish fulfillment settings.
Now I'm curious to know what character is based on who. I only recognize about half of them.

Things I liked about this story:
Addressing the fact reincarnation stories are mostly bullshit, that the protagonists haven't done jack to earn their powers and that cheat skills are bullshit.

Things I disliked about this manga:
The killing and rape was nothing more than gratuitous shock value, the relationship between the two wasn't even established beyond a wikipedia entry, and the protagonist (plus the audience) has no time to process anything before we move on to the next step.

This chapter is way too rushed and doesn't do jackshit with the characters beyond introducing their quirks - not character, quirks. No wonder it got immediately axed, aside from an interesting premise, everything else beyond the art sucks.

This could've been really good. But I can understand why they were so pissed about this. Parody is fine, but it's way too blatant and there's just too much "hostility" and jabs towards the other author works, very explicitly during the Witch's speech about the whole "reincarnation" genre. I mean I would be pissed too if I wrote a series, and someone made a "serious" parody like this by painting my character in a bad light.

If they toned down the similarities a bit, but have enough for people to make a connection towards them, they might actually let this through.
Very unfortunate as this feels like it's going to be one of those guilty pleasure type of series.

I dunno. I agree on the fact that the characters are almost plagiarized but I think they shouldn't be so thin skinned to not accept criticism against their settings and characters.

It's more about the hostility towards these characters and the works they come from.
It's one thing to make an edgy parody of a work, it's a whole other thing to essentially plagiarize 9 characters of 9 different works and paint them as self serving rapists.

The Shield Hero has already tackled and is currently shedding more light into the idea that the reincarnators are assholes who only see the world they stumbled into as their playground, and now they're suffering the consequences for their selective ignorance.

The premise can work, other authors have made it work. The problem here is that the mangaka seems to have a hatred for those characters or the genre as a whole, and when you make your manga based on your hatred of something instead of the passion about the subject you're talking about, it's going to turn people off.

I remember there being an anime about a girl responsible for killing off reincarnator if they proved to be a threat to the world (can't remember the name, only saw a few clips), which tackles exactly this type of issue with the concept as well, yet that one gets a pass. Again, it's not about the criticism of the genre, it's about the hatred the mangaka has shown here.

You're thinknig of Shokei Shōjo.

It got a pass because it was yuri and actually did some things, but my personal opinion aside, it was at the end of the day, actually being a story on its own.

A huge piece of missing context for this manga, was that the writer (who made Kakegurui) was really upset that his previous isekai manga was cancelled (Isekai Courtroom -- Houtei Barrister) and it had some criticisms thrown its way for not being well thought out (magic use kind of kills any courtroom drama). It's such a thinly veiled rant filled with bitch tears, that you can't really feel any sympathy for him.

If memory serves, he's also not the one who decided on the yuri stuff for Kakegurui and basically the editor and artist pushed for it.

I thought this was going to be semi-interesting but it's just boring all the way through.

Truly a moment of other authors unable to take a joke.

I just hope, one day,a fan with the strongest of spines comes up with a way to at least make a 11 more chapters that fit this theme.

I died of laughter at "Honda". Anyway, I wasn't surprised to see that this is the same author as "Isekai Executioner". Nice that they managed to keep this concept going minus the parody.

Good to see they still made this series minus parody
Lawyers ruining an fun concept but then again I’m the kinda person who wouldn’t care if you made a series about a person who kills people by stabbing them with their genitalia wrapped in whatever nations flag or something else fucked and offensive even if they dropped the n word and were a nazi I mean I probably wouldn’t read it well unless the art was really dope like hate wanking to an Ntr manga(where the villain shares the victim) because the art is to damn hot

Please help me understand who's a parody of who on this picture:

dPSPa.webp

I can probably guess only five or six of them:

Kiruto “the dual wielding black knight” is a likely parody of Kirito (from “Sword Art Online”), but that parody does not make much sense because the original story is not even an isekai and thus the grand premise does not apply to him unless the author here preaches humane treatment of monsters in VR games.

Don Will Dead “the undead king” is a likely parody of Ainz Ooal Gown (from “Overlord”) and makes the author's sentiment more understandable because has been a formidable force of evil.

Honda Yuuya “the looper” is a likely parody of Subaru Natsuki (from “Re:Zero”).

Roro Sendiger “the named slime” is a likely parody of Rimuru Tempest (from “Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken”).

➎ Is Anastasia Melokva “the young demon” perhaps a parody of Tanya Degurechaff (from “Youjo Senki”)?

➏ Is Flare “the fallen goddess” perhaps a parody of Aqua (from “KonoSuba”)? — then the grand premise does not apply to her unless the author here suspects an isekai goddess of also being a human “truly laughable piece of trash” in her much earlier life or something.

Who's the rest?

Why the NEET is suddenly characterized as “a hate filled dog who followed orders” (on the 27th page) as if he were a wagie?

The most well-known reincarnated NEET is probably Rudeus Greyrat (“Mushoku Tensei”), so should we understand the character of Lois Crawford here as some “Greyrat if he wiped out villages and then raped the survivors”? — again, does not make much sense (is too far “out of character”), so I am not surprised that Kadokawa decided to cancel this rapefic.

I agree that the killing and rape was nothing more than the author not being able to think of a better motivation for the MC. But the characters not getting more than and introduction is not a bad thing since this was only chapter one! If this could continue then they would've added more to the other characters.
