a lot of manga seems to get licensed.
sad, really.
especially because when some japanese manga has arrived at my local bookstore, it's usually cheaper than the digital copy(which doesn't make sense, because....why?). Which is fine.
but.......i don't really like reading in my mother language as i'm more used to reading in english. it just feels kinda wrong and rigid. Because my country have a weird regulations about "healthy translation" Or some sort.
For example. The subjective word. Take the japanese for example.
Watashi - formal
Boku - semi masculine. Casual
Ore - masculine. Most casual, and can even be viewed as rude.
Now imagine reading a manga with the character only using watashi, and boku at most. Even when the character is pictured as rude. Feels weird, right? That's how it is in my mother language.
