Who said I was getting my moral compass from Kei Sasuga manga.

This part

It’s important to acknowledge sex work can be as exploitative as any kind of work.

How else do I take that? You felt it was a slight be cause this chapter downplayed the downsides of sex work. I don't think it's this author nor work's job to do that. And I feel there's plenty of literature and actual news focusing on it.

I just exhibited more knowledge about sex work than she ever did in a story.

Here too
But hey buddy, you can also admit there is many stories with messages like that.

I could. I appreciate this story becsuse it gives acknowledgement of enjoyment of something society shames (which tbh is one of my favorite themes in media. Accepting one's desires and passions even if no one else understands or even shames you). And as someone reading a Sasugs Kei story and arguing with someone over the internet about it, I resonate with that :haa:
Why make her a sex worker if you wouldn’t touch on sex worker things. Like you didn’t need her to be that either to drive that point home.

Because if this is gonna be half as long as Domestic Girlfriend, we got more than one chapter to touch on sex worker things. Like I said, we still got 2 more characters to introduce , let alone 5 to properly dig into. Arguably 3 since we don't really know much about the Idol yet.

Also why say fat and miserable together like that lmao what.

Because she herself mentioned she was chubby. Clearly it's a quality that stuck with her if that's how she remembers herself in the past, and what she tells to a male roommate she knew for a week (and his drunk friend she doesn't know lol). Subtext says her body issues are another part of her she wanted to liberate herself from.

If she didn't mention it I never would have included it. She could have easily said she changed herself to fit the role she wanted and be happy with her past and current body. But I know that's still a big issue, especially in Asia.

As if they are mutual negatives in her past. You can be fat and happy. Fat and a stripper too. The way you said that is giving ick.

Sorry you feel that way. Hope my clarifications help out. If you still feel that way... 🤷. I'm used to being misconstrued in topics like these because people are quick to fire insults. I'm too old to defend myself on the internet against people who don't even care. I just like talking about this kinda stuff, as seen from my responses lol. Happy to have a conversation, but also can't stop people from judging me. I am reading a Sasuga Kei manga after all :pepela:

Disgusting whores, this manga feels like it was written by a woman
It was in fact written by a woman. It's super disappointing that she made the most attractive woman in the whole manga a whore and tried to make it seem noble. Sure, pole dancing is hard, but so is normal dancing. Why couldn't she have just been any regular dancer who doesn't pull her tits out 3 seconds into her performance? Now she's just a woman who threw away a financially stable job to show her naked body to old men. It's pathetic.

Edit: the people who are negatively reacting to my comment must be subscribed to several OnlyFans accounts or are the ones who run them.

I can't imagine that a boss would bring a female employee along to a strip club with good intentions...
Also just because she enjoys and chose that profession doesn't mean everyone in that profession feels the same. It's not the most respectful industry for sure.

If I had body like her, I'd sure as hell would strut it out for all to see.

This is only ch. 6 of a manga and we still need to properly introduce 3 more girls, this isn't a full arc and we know Kei isn't going to have a perfectly realized character who got over all her trauma and baggage in vol. 1. We may still be headed for a dumpster fire but at least give her a volume to cook lmao.
We just call this improper pacing. Why start now and next chapter go to another characters story. If it doesn’t need to be about sex work exploitation and workplace misconduct, why start her story now? Why include the words exploitive and show characters reaction to the word?

Also you act like authors are entitled to a series that is fully realized past volume 1. Unfortunately most things get canceled after volume one. Contractually they might not make it past 2-3. So what gives you faith that she will get more story about it?Since you supposedly think there isn’t purpose to her doing so?

Because this is how pretty much any and all large casts work? if you aren't pressed for time, it's worse pacing to try and throw everyone's intro into one chapter. Regardless of what you think of Yukari, this certainly made more of an impression than her 2 panels in chapter 1, where she is shown pole dancing in her room for one panel, and then introduced as "I'm a pole dancer". That chapter was already packed and it was a double length chapter.

Also, I dunno about Japan. But keep in mind that this isn't even officially in English. Japan doesn't care that much about western culture if it's not some global IP.

But there are many stories with that message. Her being a sex worker, I would hope to have more being told in conjunction with that message if that’s the motif.

I'll say it again, not every story needs to highlight this, and if you are getting your moral compass from Sasuga Kei's manga, that's a bigger red flag than any of the drama she wrote. No matter how we feel the chapter is out regardless. Coulda Woulda Shoulda.

TBH, because it'd make good drama to have her seeming ideal dream fall apart, and this is Sausuga Kei we're talking about :kek: . It's not the early parts of DnK that people complain about being

You ignored like every point I actually made. Nobody said an author had to do anything. And I didn’t imply it should be done in one chapter I said arc. What western things do you speak of? Please touch grass

you did, multiple times. I pointed out at least four of them. I'm not really gonna bother with semantics like "Well actually I said I would LIKE this, not SHOULD", we get your point, you are frustrated. Which is fine, but don't be a hypocrite and pretend that you aren't.

What western things do you speak of? Please touch grass
Well, I tried, but I'm not surprised by the result. Some people just can't talk about this topic with a level head. Good day.

Anyone can do anything they want so long as they don't cause disturbance or harm to others. But you gotta have the basic common sense my guy. The boss is stupid as a fucking brick to invite a female worker to a strip club. Middle schoolers know better to always hide your porn under the bed. Regardless of what you're into, straight or not, going to a strip club for a team party is never a good idea.

That being said, I don't know what the female worker can sue her boss for. It's a legal strip club and since it's a party or something, I don't think he did anything illegal. I'm not a lawyer so don't quote me on that.
