@knismaps

Holy shit, you broke the code! The Japanese was

窓ガラス
思った以上に
硬かった.

Madogarasu, omotta ijouni, katakatta.

A 575 haiku. Thanks!

My haiku:

The Window Glass,
More Than I Had Expected,
Displayed much hardness.

So $60k a year? That doesn't seem like so much that you can just give him over half your salary...unless standard of living over there is much lower than I think

A lot of people missed the panel about it being take-home pay vs. gross...

I googled U.S. take home pay calculator and with some plug n' play it looks like you need $180,000 annual salary to hit $5k per week take home pay - and that's without inputting state or municipal income tax.

She definitely does not have $60k salary lol.

Idk how it is in Japan but in the US executives usually get fat bonuses or compensation in company stock or both on top of regular salaries.

Seems fun so far, I’m looking forward to reading more. Something that came to mind when I finished reading though is that if their genders were reversed, this plot might not go down well for some people (recap: after he declined her offer of being paid to welcome her home everyday, she got him fired to essentially force him into accepting)

In manga/anime at least, what they use in a similar manner to the "six figure salary" in the US is 10 million yen a year salary, as in that's what shallow girls in shoujo manga want their boyfriends to make. And according to https://japantaxcalculator.com/, 10 million a year salary would break down to around 550,000 yen take-home pay a month, after deducting tax, insurance, and other mandatory contributions. (Japan's effective tax rate for personal income is around 50%). That number would vary a little based on personal tax situations and the local/municipal rate, of course. So while the 530,000 yen take-home pay might look like it was an arbitrary number, I think it was based on that "10 million yen" trope.

Wish fullfilment went from 'Become a badass in another world' to 'Have an easy job with a decent salary' ...

This looks like it will turn out better than that other onee-san's story who wanted to look after a high-school boy.

About the crowbar, my guess is he got it with a collectors edition of Half-Life (and how to smash a balcony door open in a practical way - well, clearly you can learn that from manga ;)

4k euro a month doesn't feel like a lot tho. She must have connections to be able to pull that in her company.
