To be fair to him, she traumatised him and thus he isn't obligated to accept her apology. I mean he was suicidal since chapter 1 and, as revenge plans goes, his idea to break her heart as a result of him killing himself is one of the less destructive.
Additionally, he only gets "violent" after she stops him from killing himself, i.e. the only thing that kept him going ironically. Even then, he slaps her in a "defensive" way as she is physically restricting him.
