Honestly, I would like to see in detail WHY she changed her tune. There has to be something that sparked the change.

His reaction is perfectly normal. For a "normal" person, he can't forget, he can't forgive. But he decides he will not take revenge. Most people will think along these lines.
You have to remember, in the end when you get revenge you also end up hurting others. Her parents maybe? Your parents for sure if you are apprehended. Most people will renounce revenge, it's the rational choice. It's also the "just" choice, as in "I want to be a good person". Not an easy choice though.
But forget and forgive? Not really.

Which leads me to the question... where will this manga go from now on? Redeption for her? Just show him getting a good life? An actual romance arc? (I'd probably not like this one)

Except that it really isn't, if you lose your legs, you are most likely not going to be able to walk again. Some might have the support system to move on and the resources to get some kind of advanced prosthetic, but those are the exceptions; it would be wild to expect ppl from move on, it is even wilder to blame them for not doing so

The reason why ppl renounce revenge is that it is inconvenient to them, is has never been about what is just. This reminds me of MLK letter where he says that the greatest obstacle to black ppl was not the racist white supremacist but the white moderate who says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action"

Honestly, while some may deride the protagonist. He's honestly realistic. How can you forgive someone who tormented you that long? How can you, after spending so long building this idea of revenge in your head, just let that go? You want the bully to stay the same, so you can make them have their comeuppance. That's the story.

But, he didn't get anything. He didn't get that satisfaction.

It's not fun, nor satisfying to get his revenge on her, because that's not his bully anymore. And she accepting his hatred is just another form of pity to him. He didn't get a "I got revenge on my bullies, and now my life is cool" moment, someone else did it for him, and he didn't even get to see the pleasure of seeing his bully get bullied in return. Another group of bullies got involved, left his life for years, and now his bully is remorseful, due no part of his.

He feels cheated out of his revenge, but can't bring himself to do anything about it, because neither he, nor his bully, are children anymore. The one he wants revenge on is that bully from his childhood, but that girl only exists in his memories.

It's wilder to expect people to just stay on the ground with no legs and die, than learning how to crawl, how to push up, and work to get resources for said prosthetics. Or at the very least a chair.

There's no blame to it. You either move forward, or you don't. I'm willing to bet that the people who move forward are substantially happier and more adjusted than the people who don't.

While this is worth celebrating, there's still the issue of what's he to do with all of that pent up frustration and resentment. Obviously it's not just going to go away and taking it on her, whether physically or sexually, won't do much good since it'll just eat at him more especially since she's changed.

So either he's going to self-destruct or he'll take it out on the other bullies. That's my guess.
