reposting this on the chapter that sticked, something is wrong with the translation this chapter, a bunch of text keeps repeating itself between different charcaters speekch bubbles, unless that is how the author wanted, it's odd
So while it was poorly translated I’m happy it got translated.
Now onto the plot: it seems that the manga is trying to save the Childhood friend in the eyes of the reader.
The Mc never told both of them this and they never insisted he talk to his Ex.
The Ex did actually cheat on him wanting Mc to get jelly but it just destroys him not to mention this happens right after he lost his family so creating a double whammy.
When Mc was getting used to his new life the ex kept trying to talk to him, Mc rejected her every time (she was both happy and sad about this because she’s dumb), turns out a boy in class got pissed that this was happening and started to stalk the Ex, due to reasons she got Mc’s help, they stop the stalker and “make up” (Mc actually gets her to see what she did wrong and she admits it was sh**y), the “Make up” is just Mc saying he will talk to her again but not as a childhood friend or Ex just a random person he just met and told her if she were to try and use the past against him he WILL cut her off permanently.
What the fuck happened? I just found out that this series is being done by Agni Scans; which had a similar issue of nose diving quality when it comes to translation with Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha.

That sounds a lot better then where the direction of this manga version seems to be heading. I think the person who made this manga is just trying to speedrun things so they can tie this all up in a pretty little bow with the girl of their own choice, considering this series ends in a couple of chapters.

Brainrot of the highest order, respect to anyone having the patience to translate this, can only imagine how much its gonna hurt having to sit through this 🥲..
Those girls literally trying to justify his ex gfs bs (Assume the complete error in translation, which says he cheated just goes to show how much it hurts translating)

If that's the case, then I feel like this manga's just gone from mid to bad in my eyes. The way you've described it makes him seem more independent, more self-reliant, and like an actual character with growth for once. Not getting the other two involved, solving the problems on his own, and coming to a self-respecting conclusion that isn't over-the-top rude or harsh is exactly the kind of thing I was expecting yet never really got out of this adaptation.
It just feels like the MC went from having a personality to being dragged around even harder than when he was excessively subservient, and now he essentially just follows the whims of the girls even though he spent so long being miserable and holding in his feelings because of it. And that is especially frustrating after the first few chapters that were somewhat cliche but overall decent, and offered a somewhat refreshing take with the amount of common sense and logic that went into his interactions with them once he reached his breaking point. He exploded with anger towards each of them as a result of their numerous actions, had really good points about how it was unfair for him to be treated that way and then also treated like the villain when he was fed up with them, and told them to kick rocks because he wouldn't accept that anymore.
We wouldn't have a story if they agreed to stay away, but it's gotten so frustrating watching him take on more and more of the blame for their actions while also not fighting them back on it. Yes, his outburst was intense and made them each emotional, but that was the whole point. He'd been suffering in silence for so long that when he finally opened up about it, he couldn't control his feelings, and while it's incredibly valid for him to see that it wasn't the most mature thing to do and apologize for it, it feels like the scales are always tipped against him when it comes time to reconcile. The FMC he's interacting with gets all sorts of backstory and "woe is me" type scenes that really don't make their actions any more acceptable, meanwhile the MC just has to sit there and go, "wow, I can't believe you had to deal with that while you were tormenting me, sorry for not accepting it quietly like you wanted", with the manga just forgetting the fact that he's an orphan that had to spend months stewing in all sorts of negative feelings as a result of losing his parents and the constant cruelty of the girls.
It's like the story in the manga took a total 180 away from the initial message and specifically his wording of "why am I the villain just because you cried and I didn't", and made him the one in the wrong in each interaction with the FMCs. They really left him with the cosmetic changes and stole the spine that he spent so long growing just so he felt compelled to choose one of the girls that really don't deserve it whatsoever.
That sounds a lot better then where the direction of this manga version seems to be heading. The girls didn't get the whole story from the mc, (a tl;dr at most) and at least I think they're pushing him to get some closure instead of cutting things off and just getting sad by himself. Not saying that it's the best course, and if the first girl really had him for nothing and found someone else (instead of acting retarded and shitty on purpose, in hopes that it will kick MC out of his comfort zone, without him only doing it "because she asked him to"), he'd probably only get some pain and anger.
But being angry could make it easier to "get over the ex" that being sad and mulling it over alone, although the manga doesn't say what exactly are the kouhai and maido thinking or hoping will happen(or if it's even the same thing). They may even think (or hope, as manga made it apparent that they wish MC well) that it was a misunderstanding on MC part.
i dont like people who NEED to reconcile, if your a changed person, if there's no reason to interact anymore just don't unless it's really affecting you THAT BAD, just move on, leave that person with your old self and move on from that time in your life.
