Man, don't you just hate it when you are walking home and all of a sudden, a psychotic madman with a knife starts trying to kill everyone in sight?

Can’t say it was very interesting. Felt kinda meh. And, I’m just saying, but the whole “gentleman” thing is pretty sexist and outdated. Not to mention, if you want to help people why have restrictions or a specific demographic. Why not just help everyone? Its not anymore right to carry all the girl’s bags than the guy’s. Everyone can carry their own stuff, but would be saved a lot of trouble to not have to. I mean, what is this story trying to say? If a guy needs help tough, but even if a girl doesn’t need help, give it her anyway. What I got from this is that the mc wouldn’t have saved a person doing and in serious danger, if she wasn’t a cute girl. I guess that’s not okay, but I’m not exactly going to approve or applaud that kind of behavior. Also, why are like 99% of all high school girls in manga just the worst? They can’t just be happy that they have simp to do anything for them? Seriously, it takes more effort to be mean and hateful than to just say thanks and move on.

@Hollow7F He may be doing it for that reason, too...but, that one scene made it pretty clear that he's doing it to be seen as "cool" by girls...that he wants to be praised for it. So, it is, indeed, "simping" to an extent.

Also...this isn't even the first of it's kind as it says. I recall another manga about a girl haunted by hundreds, if not thousands, of spirits...and she's madly in love with the MC. So he's constantly having to deal with her ghosts as she has them do things like spy on him for her. So, "new sensation", my ass.

The protagonist himself doesn't seem that odd (dreamy-eyed submissive adoration for the opposite sex seems like a normal enough thing)...

But... what the hell world is he living in that 20 girls handed him their backpacks to carry? Or that no one sat him down and gave him a Talk about fine lines between being courteous and pushing your way into other people's spaces? The reaction of this fictional world to his character is what's bizarre.

And then it sort of devolves into an implication that "so most girls are just manipulative", because otherwise why are so many somehow demanding things of him while everyone's being so scornful? That takes a weirdly misogynistic turn, even at the same time that it's apparently still aware he's being rather cringey.

Agreed, but thats just kinda how these kinds of manga are. Excessive logical leaps to get a strange but unique plot going. Not saying its the only option, but it is a... Habit? Cliche? It happens alot, for better or worse. Im used to it.
Personally hoping mc grows ro stick uo for himself. The point was he thought he was cool being a "gentleman." Finding out hes creepy is. Well. It should hopefully get him to reconsider at least SOME aspects of his future actions.
