Interesting that this confirms both Oudou Alliance and Ashikawa group are in this series. Ashikawa was Nitta’s group (Hinamatsuri) and falls under the Oudou banner. While the names could be a coincidence, this points to the possibility of Hinamatsuri happening in the same universe.

Also, interesting that the author chose the name Marie for the new character because it also starts with the initial “M”, now whether there was intention or a mere coincidence, again, I can’t say.

I think J is kind of a freelancer and he takes jobs from Yanagi, his handler, who checks and make sure the job is legit, etc.

Though I agree that Marie’s line on not wanting to get on Ashikawa group’s bad side if she removed J is interesting. Perhaps the handler (or J) is affiliated with Ashikawa. Maybe we’ll get more details in future chapters.
