This would work wonderfully for a children picture book
But for manga's standard, the story-telling is quite crumbling in too small pieces
In this chapter we have "Apprehending the bandits", "interacting with the adventure squad", "beating the boss","returning to town","realize the credit stealing", "going to the guide", "showing the Oji-san popularity", and "revealing the cat is an observation point"
Shitty-tier isekai manga would dragged each of this point into at least one chapter
I think decent pacing story-teller would use 2 events per chapter

no, see, the pacing makes perfect sense because its from the point of view of the old man, and as we all know, time passes faster for the elderly.

us being young is also why it feels like its been a year since we last saw a chapter.
