Sansui is for this match moving in human speed. It doesn't look like it for the girl who is so close. But the sideline can see his moves clearly.

Sansui is developing a style that litteraly everyone can use no matter what power they have.

In the light novel he has more disciples, people all over who wanted to challenge the baby face swordsman, gets defeated and wants to learn from him.

The principle of the style is moving with precision and timing. Obverse what action others will take, and when they no longer can change that action. You make yours.

That's why future sight will not work. Because sansui never made a decision until you are already hit.

She actually didn't give up immediately in the light novels after she understood the gulf between the two of them. She was freezing up and panicking. And then he lectured her. Ran only gave up after Sansui stated he would outright execute her if she didn't improve. Basically, this was strike two, and that meant her head was already on the metaphorical chopping block, and he let her know that.
