the Web novel hasn't gotten there yet, but every tenth chapter or so revisits her with her life wrecked bemoaning her stupidity. You'd think she had eaten a dozen new-born babies rather than being a kid who had totally messed up. But the immature fan base want to see her skin peeled from her while awake.

And honestly i cant give my limited empathy to a fictional cheater character, even author gave up about redemption for her not my problem. People are free to want a redemption for her but it wont come from me bc im not interested, it could have been different if she chose to come clean before it escalated to the point he wanted to die. You all are forgetting about the fact he almost died bc of her since mc is fine later on but that doesnt mean it changes what she did in my eyes. You can cheat its fine, you can just fck his heart but if you fck his life completely too and dont take responsibility for what u did, there will be no empathy from anyone. Am i harsh? I agree that she is kind of a victim too but its %30 her fault for almost killing him and she didnt even go to jail? If we count her as victim then that shitty guy also a victim of someone else since he get manipulated. What is left to take from her but her life? And what life even is that? She is just existing at this point, based on what I can glean and it's been that way for a while. Everytime the story goes back to her, it's to show how deep in the gutter she is, with no way out.

Where are we going with her? Is she just meant to exist in a constant state of guilt until she can't take it anymore? Should she just awkwardly be around to be reminded of what she denied herself each time she sees Eiji and Ai together? Should she go rot forever in jail? Remember that she is a teenager. A shitty, idiotic, selfish teenager, but a teenager nonetheless, and one who is aware of how hard they fucked up and cannot escape that reality as everything around her reinforces how much all of this is due to her hubris.

Personally, it's because of how far she drove Eiji down the path that I wonder what is being said here. Is it okay if she gets driven all the way through that path because she is guilty and everyone knows it? Will it be justice if she ends up on the rooftop like Eiji did but there is no Ai for her and she goes through with it because she has nothing else left for her? She can't even "blissfully" live out her days as some douche playboy's mindless sex pet, she is fully aware of her situation and her role in it.

This is not about sympathy or anything like that (at least for me), I couldn't care less if she gets torn to pieces or whatever. This is such a unique position in a story, and I am just very curious to see what the author (and the audience) deems appropriate as a conclusion.

But I have yapped enough about something I could not even be bothered to read myself so I will just peace out and come check back in a few weeks/months to see where it all goes.

Nicely done, author probably left it for our imagination but it seems it feels unfinished bc of that for you and i agree on that. I dont care if its good or bad an official ending for her would be good.

Just imagine getting yourself in his shoes, getting betrayed by someone he spent his life with since childhood while also getting terrible treatment in school just because that someone was a bit more popular. Keep in mind, he's just a youngster, so he would be afraid to even talk to his parents about the situation, after all, the whole school had turned on him, no wonder he would be scared that his parents would too, it's an illusion caused by fear of course.

Dying is an easy way out, but it would leave a mark on those who cares about him. People might say he should talk to someone, but could he really? He was afraid that the someone he talked to would also turn on him. The trust he had on others was almost zero after being treated like that by everyone around him at school at this point.

Young people tend to make mistakes and won't share what's troubling them because they are scared, uncertain and lost. Asking or even pressuring them for what's bothering them would only annoy them, since they have a fragile heart. Of course, if someone notice anyone around them acting unusual like this, they shouldn't give up. Just being by their side while trying to ease their mood up would help a lot. They might even share their troubles after they feel safe around you.

Oh, yeah, definitely. Once she gave that up, too, they certainly had sex at every opportunity. It just isn't clear when, but definitely well before the breakup.

Spoiler: These are story points in a few chapters

In comparison to the other girl of Kondo's, Miyuki was only on her way to becoming a pet, but I think the breakup with Eiji gave her a reality check and kind of slowed that down. Then, after the love hotel with her mother being hospitalized, any advance towards pet is abruptly halted and reversed.

I believe Kondo had complained in one of his perspectives that Miyuki was difficult, and decided he'd hit up Convenient Girl #1 instead. Convenient Girl #1 is absolutely his broken pet and displays a level of adulation towards Kondo that Miyuki doesn't even have a glimmer of. (The love hotel was a desperate attempt to ease her guilt, and it didn't work.)

I do feel bad for Miyuki because they way she feels is not great, and she's filled with regret (albeit not enough early on). However, she absolutely deserves to feel the way she does.
