This manga/novel is a bit weird. It takes a pretty garbage and low-tier setup but then takes very righteous and realistic portrayal on it. And it gets tons of attention and even actual awards for it .

I have caught up to the novel, so I don't think it's bad or anything, but frankly it seems pretty average to me. It really does do a good job of subverting and even shaming the way bullying is enabled/downplayed in such stories,(and even reality) but that's that. Most such edgy stories are unrealistic anyway, and in the real world no one takes bullying and harassment to such extreme levels, unless the school is a delinquent hellhole or something. Still worth a read, but it just stands out because the rest of such "betrayal/false accusation" novels, and the overall bullying tropes, are garbage tier

Mistranslation on page 5: その忘れ形見である英治君を/わしは死んでも守るからな

What he says here is that Eiji is his father's 忘れ形見 (wasuregatami).
忘れ形見 has two meanings, the first one being a memento, a keepsake; and the second one being "orphan" or a "posthumous child" (a child born after the death of a parent).

This old man her isn't calling Eiji "that man's only remaining son", he's calling him the child that was orphaned by that man's death (as in orphan of one parent because the other is still alive).

This might be a bit awkward to translate, but a literal translation would be
"I will protect Eiji-kun, that man's posthumous child, even if it costs my life!"
