With this chapter, perhaps we can all agree that "Eiji being shy and reserved" is no longer a valid trigger for Miyuki's cheating. Perhaps what they felt towards is nothing other than friendship disguised as romantic love.
I wanted to make this point as well so I'm glad someone did. While I'm not encouraging somebody to it, I understand that there are people who are trapped and that there is no other way out. It is easy to say "don't give up, it will get better" when you aren't the one in that position. When you know that if you do become trapped like them, there are people beside you to help. Not everyone does. Words will remain to be words. They won't magically turn someone's hellish life better. Saying it is a selfish act does not help either. Words don't help, actions do.
One may say that it is selfish for not thinking about the people around you, but isn't "forcing someone to live for others" also selfishness? He wasn't really "shy", he daydreamed about Miyuki in the very first chapter right before he saw her cheating in the hotel district. Eiji is actually very proactive if his girl is also into it (he bluntly stared at Ai's chest in the roof as well) but you should either wait to see more manga chapters or check the WN.
