@SSS26032002 There's no virus. In this universe, stands are granted by the power of the corpse. I have no idea how you missed that. If you traverse through the Devil's Palm you may get a stand if the corpse wills it. If it decides you're extra special, you may bond with a piece of the corpse.

@Tyrantlizard Why was Jesus so special then? Because of fate? I don't think so. It can probably be also because of some other cosmic factor. In the previous universe, Araki just thought that making that factor a virus would be good and will probably explain how it just gave stands to family members but it didn't.
I'm still confused about this even after reading part 8.
