hmm yes, indeed. It's the most interesting and unique part, but we haven't gotten any hints or progress on what the deal is.

The fact that it's an eldritch horror parasite thing was obvious from chapter 1, and beyond that all we know is that it's extremely powerful and seems to be genuinely very protective of the other party members.
