In this chapter, Kyou is wearing a male school uniform, so it's pretty safe to say he's a dude. I don't see how his "high quality friends" would have followed a girl anyway. More likely they would have gang raped a female Kyou. But then again, the writing of this manga is complete bollocks, so who knows.
