Reducing a woman to motherhood is a bad tendency lately. This is what happens in countries like Afghanistan.

Its the contrary to me though? Not only it's not reducing their role, but also recognize that it is something respectable. I think you are bias on this. This is not the same thing as "being housewife is your place, woman" but "being housewife is an important role that you can proudly do".
I work from home and double up as a house husband, so I know; keeping the home in a good state is hard, man. They're full time job on its own. There's really no lazing around watching TV like media will make you think it is if you want to do it well. You constantly go from one task to another and before you know it, that's the whole day.

To the bug guy, there is nothing wrong with a woman being a only being a wife and a mother, one of the main reasons people made cities and therefore orginized societies would have been so that mothers and children would be permanently fed, housed, and protected. From this conception men would have ordered the world of their families to be safe and provided for; to be a mother and wife is technically the only necessary job for which all other jobs exsist at root. Respect the wifes and mothers who choose this profession; "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."

Apologies for the rambling, I genuinely hope you sort out whatever is going on in your life that lead you to denigrate the importance of traditional moms.

They are. HOWEVER, Kota will have a real hard time making enough money to support two people, plus eventual childbirth and child-rearing expenses, on only a high school graduate's salary. I don't know where in Japan they live, but from my observations of Tokyo over the past two decades, right out of high school he's going to be looking at a full-time salary of about 200-220k/month. Take-home will be something like 175k/month, he'll be paying about 70k/month for the apartment, and let's say another 20k for phones and utilities. That'll leave 85k/month for the two of them to eat and whatever entertainment they want, all while trying to save up the 500k they'd need to give birth plus the moving expenses and higher rent they'll need when two become three.

Riko's smart, despite the appearance she tries to project. She knows that if she contributes to the household expenses and builds up some employment skills of her own, they'll be in much more comfortable shape.
