That would make it way worse for me. I find the manga/manhwa where the MC is both insanely powerful AND smart very boring. At that point it's just a power fantasy for the reader where the MC can do no wrong and the comments section should be avoided at all costs.

While I do agree with you, I also agree with him.
The problem here is that he is quite smart and observant. To use the most recent example from the anime, he cured entire city of ghouls with one spell. The one spell which up until now was just "Art is... EXPLOSION!!!!" That obviously reguired some level of understanding of what is happening.
On the other hand he is, at times, incredibly blind and ignorant of things happening right under his nose, which really, really should give him pause. Yet, he acts as if nothing is going on or decides to disregard it as nonsense.

Zeta wants Shadow to become an Immortal God-like being, and her experiments ends up following on a similar route to how the Cult works, so Alpha goes in opposition to stop her before it's too late.

Zeta and a splinter faction of Shadow Garden believe that if they prevent Diablos' resurrection, Shadow garden might cease or disband as a faction and Shadow will leave them. If Diabolos was resurrected and Lord Shadow got the honor of banishing it on the world stage then he may attain immortality and be worshipped as a God and have Shadow Garden rule the world from the shadows so to speak.

from what we know it is reincarnation shenanigans, in his past life he was extremelly chuuni (that is, he fantasize his whole life) and trained to the limit of humanly possible and... I believe it was implied he either was a victim of the first magical invaders or was one of the first to see them come but was hit by a truck-kun while investigating.

Then on his new life he kept going chuuni, but in this life he is just doing it for the bit, trying to live it as much as he can... and just happens that "the bit" is actually real for everyone but him.

My guess is his "reincarnation power" is some sort of divination, with some weird cassandra truth block so he does not notice how everything is right. I mean, he just... threw a knife on a map and said mysterious lines, and in the end that location was 100% right?


As I said above, I think this big denial thing may be the other side of the coin of his power of "always pushing things to the right path".

Before he believed in magic powers in the real world and kept searchign for them, and believed himself to be stealthy despite being a wall of muscles from all his training.
Now, everything is just people playing pretend.

I find it funny on a meta sense that both Zeta and Delta both want Cid to rule the world, but while Zeta's approach is to turn Cid into an immortal God, Delta's approach is shag Cid up with as much women as possible to rule the world with a literal army of his children.

Every time I see this update, I get psyched thinking about the start of the series with him shouting, "Woo-hoo, motherfuckers!" Attacking the bandit camp where Alpha was.
