It'll all be solved by Cid's chuuni fantasy roleplay anyways. There's just no tension in the plot. Some new people get introduced and dies, MC never takes it seriously, and powers behind the scene will make it all good. Hooray. Next cult, next plot, next otherworld invention, next chuuni fantasy roleplay that gets misinterpreted as 4D chess genius 2000IQ move.
i think you are severely lacking in understanding the point of this series. it's never been about tension or ultra smart 4d chess moves, it's a satire on the isekai op mc troupe with a super chuuni mc that thinks everything is just a game. it's satire, it's not meant to be taken seriously. do you also act like this with one punch man if you've read it?

The destination does not matter, it's all in the journey. If you don't find the over the top goofy edginess funny and enjoyable, this is simply not the series for you.
Unfortunately the journey is being greatly hampered by Cid constantly trying to find his next LARP. At some point of seeing so many people die, you gotta realise that stuff is REALLY HAPPENING, right?

I haven't read OPM for some time, but Saitama does actually get serious and move to save people because while he doesn't think of himself like a big hero, he IS ACTUALLY a hero. His perception of danger is skewed, but his character and actions make sense. He exists in the world and interacts with it, unlike Cid which doesn't even seem to believe that any of it is real.

This extends to the story, which is my complaint about tension. Nothing feels in peril since actual escalation might break Cid's illusion bubble. Named characters will be put in danger and then be saved by the good guys while Cid LARPs about being a small birthday boy or something. 30 dead students? Whatever, he got to do his act! Wasn't that cool?

Kanade is like the girl version with the best parts of Cid, which makes her undisputedly the best girl.
She even embodies Cid's "Leaching off the rich is awesome!!" better than Cid himself does!

Apparently Greham kisses with his forehead, what a gentleman.

They’re speaking like old-timey mobsters, hence the grammar. I guess that didn’t translate well.
I'll be doing another pass this weekend. sorry for the errors
the only error in the mobster goon speak was if the thought of the "tat's him!!" line being replaced with "it's da freakin' clown!!" didn't cross your mind at least once

anybody can give a clue whether she's on our side or the enemy's?

also if she likes or hates cid? just a clue
She neither like nor dislike him. He's just someone who has also seen Jack the Ripper's note to her.

What she also "seen" in him is the figure of fake Suzuki. But it's in the same way how Claire convinced herself that the evilishly-grinning-Cid can't actually be Cid.

I think I understand now... you really don't get anything. Cid is the clown, there are clues about it, the biggest one is the fact that it is called "Jack the Ripper" and guess how many people know that name in this world?

So yeah, nah, he knows that stuff is really happening, he is the one who makes it happen.

And what part of "this is simply not the series for you" you don't understand. If you don't like it, that's fine, just move on to the series that you like and remove this from your reading list.

This story isn't about heroism after all. He's only doing what he want hunting bad people, but he never once claimed to be on the justice side.

30 dead students? Whatever, he got to do his act!
Thankfully he never freed his school for an actual terrorist. Not even once, left alone twice!
