Part One is crazy work. It seemed like the opportune time to wrap up the series, but there were some loose threads still. It must be popular enough, so we’ll finally get to see what’s up with that young swordsman who nearly got taken out.

Chainsaw man really got the whole manga in parts ball rolling huh. Seeing as anime is also changing their usual formats, this may well mean the industry won't be such a slavefest going forward, which is neat. Surprised to see there won't be a break in publishing tho.

I actually like that Samura can potentially be resurrected again. His power has Phoenix symbolism so it makes sense. It also more narratively satisfying after all that build up with Iori and Samura story.

Anyway it's a good closing arc for the part 1. Chihiro's personality is still static but you can see the growth of his character.

Also I wonder what happened to Hakuri.

Given how long shonen series are, I wouldn't be surprised if this series is following a 3 act structure, so in other words, we're now one third of the way through the story. Could be wrong, but it's an interesting thought
